Sometimes when I read people who go on about about FFxi I wonder if we were playing the same game. Artifacts has always been easy to quest, even the originals to the point that even when I quested my first set it took me less than a day to do. Relic armors required you to fight trash mobs and access to zones that required victory in previous zones but even with all that it took me less than a month to get my first full relic. Ironically, the most challenging to get are the Empereon armors which requires that you have to farm pops, pop NMs of varying difficulty, trigger their weaknesses (which require communication and teamwork) or risk not getting the seals... And this was just for the +1, the +2 were even worse.

The nostalgic losers (and you know who you are) seem to confuse repetitive tedium for challenge.
