This. Every bit this. I have dedicated a weeks of gameplay to my Dragoon, only to find that the guy who chose a different class gets to have a waaaay easier time of it. If there was a way to gear multiple classes with endgame gear (as many expected there to be for a game with an armoury system), and just swap to one of the dev favorites and no longer worry about it, I wouldn't have such a problem with it. But sadly myth is capped, so I'd have to completely start over and it'd take me two weeks just to get the weapon before I even start actually gearing a different class.

It's really, really not. The debuff/aoe from the nails is not a big deal at all, and that's the only thing melee has to deal with that ranged may not have to.

Well because most groups are as bright as a sack of wet mice。 The off tank is supposed to pull Suparna and main tank pulls Chirada. It takes 30s before wicked wheel comes up so you have 30s to kill Suparna off the off tank and move to CHirada on main tank. One wicked wheel won't kill you. Two is what does it.

So ranged have issues with being tied to a tank and not being able to reach anything to dps? Interesting.

There are ways around wicked wheel but 99% of all people at that level are to stupid to do any of those strats. There is nothing anyone can do to deal with melee getting tied to the tanks.

I actually enjoy doing garuda as my dragoon for the extra challenge. Takes a bit of work to figure out how to get everything down right but when you do it's a really good feeling.

Garuda EX = EZ mode for melee lol.

    Phase with Rocks up:

    1) MT Grabs Chirada + Garuda
    2) OT grabs Suprana
    3) Nuke Suprana. You see Fricton? Run past rocks to avoid Wicked Wheel
    4) OT Grabs Chirada
    5) Nuke Chirada
    6) Nuke Garuda

    Lol what's Wicked Wheel?

    Vortex Phase with Twins:
    1) MT Grabs Garuda + Chirada
    2) OT Grabs Suprana
    3) Spiny runs to a healer
    4) Tank holds Suprana in a corner of a vortex
    5) As you see slipstream being cast from Suprana, melee DPS run to opposite corner of Triangle
    = Avoid Wicked Wheel
    = ????
    6) OT grabs Spiney off Healer (Healer should have max 2 stacks)
    7) After you see Garuda Cast Wicked Wheel, Spineshatter/Shoulder Tackle to MT.
    8) Kill Chirada
    = What's Wicked Wheel lol

    Repeat.

That's the lazy mode strat in case anyone wants to know.

Tbh, most of this is whining now. Garuda EX is hard for melees with some strategies, but you can adjust it fairly easily. Titan and Ifrit *EDIT To be fair, it sucks when you can't reach things to DPS when you are tied to a tank* aren't that different for casters and melee DPS. CT has a mix of mechanics, some favoring ranged, some favoring melee. Same with the new dungeons. Coil has very few mechanics that are hard on melee DPS. (Cad tail swipe (not that hard but will count, ADS fire asterisk (ranged, but i'll give it to melee and say it's hard to run out), repelling cannons and ballast) T4 and T5 aren't that different between classes it's one or more of the following at different intervals: stacking DPSing and dodging for everyone.

The nails at the upper left and right are usually sitting there for melee and ot's and even range to work on since melee can not initially start on them without risk of getting breathed on. So smart groups start the clockwise rotation one over. If you are tanking at a 'V' shape, you can just sit opposite MT and wack the upper nail as you get chained. Even ranged can do this. Not to mention many groups prefer that all DPS stack on the melee as they wind around nails.

You get more DPS out of a melee class, so it's not only for being a masochist. Personally, I like the challenge, I'm not in for the easy mode.

On a side note, stacking melee is not bad in every MMO out there. Ever played Lotro? Stacking melees was quite beneficial there.

I feel your pain, I'm not the best Monk but I'm certainly a good one (I can silence ADS and practice my rotations and whatnot) and I've ilvl89 average gear but most groups want to take my ilvl 73 Bard because they don't want the hassle and would rather eat a DPS loss
