Only I wouldn't have been item level 70; as I had an Ifrit weapon and an AK ring. I would have been more around the 66-67 mark. I don't know what any of this has to do with the topic though.

Anyway this is another debate, Skill =/= gear, its what SE had in mind. If people were actualy taking the time to try to make it work whatever iLv is high or not, this problem wouldn't exist in the 1szt place.
Removing the item level requirement for premades would be nice, as I see no reason for there to be one. As for increasing the level on most Duty Finder groups, absolutely. I dare say some of these trials are impossible at the current entry level. Raising the bar wouldn't make bad players good, but at least you'd be put in with other people who are at least geared for the content.

I believe that skill is more important than gear, but skill will only get you so far. A full group of item level 65 would not meet any of the DPS checks in Garuda Extreme.
