It's been answered, but for emphasis, Esuna will not cure Charm, nor its countdown debuff. You need to heal the target to full BEFORE the charm takes effect and that'll remove the debuff. That said if one DPS gets charmed, it won't be for too long, but it's not something you want. I do not know about Silence, but I will try it tomorrow if I can. My bard is only iLv64 though so I'm not too sure about taking that in there yet...

Siren's charge is ridiculously wide. Much much much wider than Ifrit's charge. You almost have to be on the extreme edge of the arena to dodge it. It's better to assume she's gonna charge when you see her disappear, so just hang out in the middle between the center and the edge, but then haul ass back into the center if you see her. Her special move has a surprisingly long charge time, so you should be okay.

This fight is very easy as a healer if you keep all party members at full health at all times. Screw worrying about overhealing, just do it. You won't be wasting that much MP anyway because the adds don't hit hard, and a divine seal Cure II/3 or a Physick + Embrace will heal up a Siren charge quickly. Most Scholars also forget about Rouse. Don't. She will usually put the charm debuff up after a charge, so get that healed up before she can.

Make sure that Bleeding song is removed the *instant* she applies it to the tank. The *instant.* If the healing debuff gets off, you and the tank are priority. Esuna/Leech them first. Note that this is much easier as Scholar because of Lustrate, but WHMs are fine. Swiftcast Raise if necessary, but Divine Seal Swiftcast Medica II's Regen will actually help more than you'd think even with that debuff. Thing is you're likely gonna piss off the adds at that point, but that's what the DPS are for.

Ah, youre absolutely right >.< ive actually never picked up on that. When I used it, it says Silence on all enemies hit, so I figured it was working. Thanks for that

silences are interrupts, those work to interrupt an ability in the moment she is casting it

Siren can be rough for all party members, but absolute hell for the Healer.

Healers who are able to efficiently help knock this boss out are legends, and I commend you.

*any* healer who can get their team through this fight at all should deserve all commendations.

Siren is easy if you got good dpsers. It's all about killin adds fast !

The whole key is to stay in the middle all the time.

Adds always spawn on the edge of the arena, so if you stay middle it give you a lot of time to deal with them, notably with the crawlers. They also take every crowd controls.

Also, sometimes Siren disappear and they are 2 different scenarios when she do so :

    a) She goes on one side, à la ifrit hm and charge to the other one : move away from middle ...
    b) She re appear in the middle and use an AoE charm that recover the whole arena but the middle : stay middle.

At some point shes gonna put a debuff on everyone + charm. Just get rid of the debuff on that person first, then tank and when the charm icon is off, remove the debuff from the others.

And thats it. You just have to deal with these 3 things and kill adds non stop + topin the person that got the charm.

Use rouse + whispering dawn when someone is charmed first as a scholar, then use fey illumination when she use it on the next one, yadda yadda. Use rouse + whispering on the 3rd charmed person and so on.

Its really, really, really not hard.

Did not try it again so far, maybe it had to do with my DF members too... but now i am scared to hell each time i start a high level duty roulette...
I've completed it a few times and I'm still scared on roulette. If DPS cannot do enough damage to dogs on the first fight, they wind up stacking debuffs and dying like crazy.

Best Advice i can give is stack on the boss. the aoe is similar to chimera's Dragon's Voice. if everybody is stacked then there is no charm to worry about. makes healing a hell of a lot easier

Just to be clear, because this has come up a couple of times in this thread alone at least... Siren has two AoE moves, and I see advice for dealing with one of them being given when it is the other one people are usually talking about.

The one you stack on the boss for happens only after she jumps up, and is one of two possible moves that she will execute when this happens, the other being her charge. This move is an AoE charm without the usual pre-charm mechanic. It is not interruptible as it is not possible to target her while she does it. Stacking on the boss is the only way to deal with it, and is very easy to manage.

Her other AoE move is called Lunatic Voice. This move causes moderate damage and places a removable debuff called Reduced Immunity that greatly reduces healing on those with the effect. It is usually done shortly after a jump, which is why it is often confused for the other move. This is the move that causes the most wipes, because she uses her single target pre-charm shortly after it all the while adds are spawning. If this move lands it places immense pressure on the healer to remove debuffs, heal the pre-charmed target to full within 10 seconds, and top up the whole party from about 50% hp while avoiding being grabbed by zombies. It is fully area wide, meaning you cannot stack on the boss or use other placement methods to avoid it. It can be stunned, and possibly silenced, and this is the best way to deal with this ability. If it does go through, the healer needs to remove debuffs as soon as possible with priority being themselves and the tank. When the pre-charm lands, remove the debuff on the affected person if not already removed and top them up to prevent them from being charmed. Once the debuffs are removed and charm is prevented it becomes relatively easier to recover from.

I hate pulling this instance on smn because 9/10 times the healer can't do siren. I've done it as a 63 scholar so I know it's not that hard yet I have seen much better geared healers fail at it. The best advice I can give is park your ass right under the tank so the zombies can get picked up/cleaved, and don't waste your cooldowns with stuff like auto-cast whispering dawn. why healers refuse to stand on the tank is beyond me when one bane off siren will kill all of the zombies.

I certainly don't because that involves trusting the tank to actually pick the stuff up, if they don't, healer gets grabbed, group wipes and the healer unwittingly takes the blame anyway I'll be standing wherever the crawlers are not

as opposed to what? the privates are going to come after you no matter what. so not standing on the tank because they won't get picked up is dumb, they're not going to get picked up that way either. sergeants shouldn't live long enough to grab anyone. all you are doing is making it harder for the dps kill the privates, good job.
