Just because the tank does not do his job, it does not mean you should not do yours. Half the fight's success comes from the team. If you do not do yours - wipe.

In a perfect world you'd be right. Last time I looked, duty finder is far from that! The sergeants don't always get focus fired like they should sadly.
I couldn't care less if the privates die straight away or not, they are not the issue. Good job though!

I ran this again for the first time in like 2 weeks yesterday and had an absolute awesome JP tank. I knew the fight already since I've cleared it several times already but basically decided to follow his instructions for the fight. Using auto translate, he told us to park our asses in the center of the room and for me to succor/ sacred soil whenever siren decided to do her vanishing act (aka not reappear in center to aoe charm). I just healed us through her charge damage which wasn't much anyway and with Eos out and using fey illumination + rouse + whispering dawn + succor was a complete joke. I've tried dodging her charge attack before the way I would dodge ifrit HM and like someone said, it has such a large radius that it's almost pointless. Just stand in the middle and eat the damage and hope your tanks/ dps are getting to adds fast enough.
This is a pretty fair strategy for the fight. The problem is, the way camera angels work in ths game, is very difficult to see where Siren reappears, if she is at the edge. Even if you zoom out full its easy to miss. So its best to just sit in mid and aoe heals.
I haven't healed this yet, but I've tanked it tons of times and I haven't failed at it in a while. Here are some general (mostly things to ask your tank to do) tips that should help.
- First boss. Ask the tank to pick up at least one of the adds whenever possible. I normally just throw a tomahawk at one so the DPS can focus one at a time. When tons start spawning at the end, the tank should still try to get aggro on 1 or 2 if he can. If you have a BLM or SMN, ask them to AOE LB near the end when 4+ dogs spawn. Since I've been doing this, the DPS get three stacks way less than in my previous attempts.
- Second boss. Designate a DPS if possible to destroy the speckled egg before it hatches each time and make sure they know that the priority is adds, then boss. Make sure the tank knows to run around the edge of the room when the boss flies to avoid the three AOEs.
- Third boss. Easy, but you should still ask the tank to pick up the adds. If your DPS is high, it isn't as big of a deal, but if not, the adds will swarm the healer and potientially kill them before the boss dies.
- Siren. As a healer, ask the tank to pick up the privates as both will normally always charge straight at you as the healer. Simply run behind the boss so the tank can Flash/Overpower them. I say this because you do not want the tank to tab around to tomahawk/lob. The tank needs to stay on the boss and be ready to stun all Lunatic voices. Make sure the DPS know that the priority is the sergeant (crawlers), then privates (walkers) and then the boss. If everyone is geared enough to not be one shot by the charge, just have everyone stack in the middle and AOE heal right after.
This dungeon, especially Siren is a group effort. If crawlers are stun locking you or the tank, if the privates are constantly beating away at you, if no one stacks in the middle for charm, if the Lunatic voice is never stunned, etc, it will be a horrible time and as the healer, you'll be blamed even if you are using Ensuna/leeches and trying to keep everyone topped off. The best way to get through it in my experience is to make sure to communicate and let everyone know what the priorities are.

Having tanked this now a few times I can confirm that spirits interrupts lunatic voice, and voice seems to be on a good timer to match it, I was able to interrupt them all with no problem.
About this... I have tanked Pharos only a handful of times, and noticed the crawlers only go to Healer or Tank. I dont think they choose targets based on enmity? The standing zombies, yes. But I'm not sure about the crawling ones... can you pull aggro with these?I haven't healed this yet, but I've tanked it tons of times and I haven't failed at it in a while. This dungeon is a lot of fun. I hope they don't nerf it a lot.
Healing is easy if your other party members do their job. Like silencing/stunning lunatic voice.
But most people go in their either not knowing what to do, or are really undergeared.
You can only gain aggro on the privates (walkers). The crawlers will normally go for the tank or healer and your DPS have to kill them ASAP as they stunlock you if they get close. The only thing you can control are the walkers and I always try to gain aggro on them because they will be beating on your healer while the DPS are busy with the crawlers otherwise.
