I've done this dungeon a few times and have yet to actually complete it. No has I ever met in DF has ever bothered explaining much of anything, even when I asked them. You'd think after wiping for 35 minutes at Siren they'd be better inclined to explain how to best handle things.

As such, I'd like to confirm a few things I'm unsure of, even after reading here.

    Charm affliction & Esuna/Leech
From the Healer that always goes with me they have told me that Esuna doesn't work. Does Esuna only work at certain instances of Charm? Does it work only during the countdown or only after the timer is over?

    Lunatic Voice & Silence
I have a Bard that I bring with em regularly when tackling this Dungeon. Could someone confirm that Silence does in fact stop LV?

Thank you guys for the quick responses! I'll relay this to my Healer ASAP. As for the tips on dodging the charge that...seems to silly that I hadn't actually done that before. Hanging at the edge I mean. I'll give that a go next time I challenge it.

It's been answered, but for emphasis, Esuna will not cure Charm, nor its countdown debuff. You need to heal the target to full BEFORE the charm takes effect and that'll remove the debuff. That said if one DPS gets charmed, it won't be for too long, but it's not something you want. I do not know about Silence, but I will try it tomorrow if I can. My bard is only iLv64 though so I'm not too sure about taking that in there yet...

Siren's charge is ridiculously wide. Much much much wider than Ifrit's charge. You almost have to be on the extreme edge of the arena to dodge it. It's better to assume she's gonna charge when you see her disappear, so just hang out in the middle between the center and the edge, but then haul ass back into the center if you see her. Her special move has a surprisingly long charge time, so you should be okay.

This fight is very easy as a healer if you keep all party members at full health at all times. Screw worrying about overhealing, just do it. You won't be wasting that much MP anyway because the adds don't hit hard, and a divine seal Cure II/3 or a Physick + Embrace will heal up a Siren charge quickly. Most Scholars also forget about Rouse. Don't. She will usually put the charm debuff up after a charge, so get that healed up before she can.

Make sure that Bleeding song is removed the *instant* she applies it to the tank. The *instant.* If the healing debuff gets off, you and the tank are priority. Esuna/Leech them first. Note that this is much easier as Scholar because of Lustrate, but WHMs are fine. Swiftcast Raise if necessary, but Divine Seal Swiftcast Medica II's Regen will actually help more than you'd think even with that debuff. Thing is you're likely gonna piss off the adds at that point, but that's what the DPS are for.

    Darn you character limit

    Continued

    Siren's Charge
Now, this might just be me hitting lag spikes or something during my last run. I'm normally able to avoid this easily but during my last run I seemed to get hit by it regardless of where I was. I even, in fact, ran sideways with sprint and hit the wall before the charge went off (on my screen) and was still hit by it. Are there specific sweet spots to avoid it or was my connection just being a jerk that evening?

You can edit your post to go over the character limit:

    1) Charm Affliction cannot be esuna/leeched it is removed by healing the afflicted to full (which can be tough with the reduced healing debuff it also applies, and even worse if lunatic voice goes off as well). If it does go through the resulting Charm cannot be esuna/leeched either.

    2) I have not done the silencing myself, but I do know that my group is not using stuns, and that the bard is using blunt arrow and I have not had to deal with a Lunatic Voice in a long time.

    3) Charge - it's latency possibly if you're running to the wall before it gets off and still being hit... Or... try runniing a 90 degree angle from where she's coming from it is a very wide charge so you might just be barely in range of it, so if she's North and heading South run to be exactly West and see if that works for you.

Charm cannot be removed or prevented by Esuna or Leeches. The party wide healing debuff from Lunatic Voice can be, however, so that is when Esuna and Leeches becomes essential. Charm can only be prevented by healing the person targeted with the pre-charm to 100% health. The charge is just a straight diameter through the field so anywhere not in her direct line is safe. I find it best to hang out just outside of the centre ring when she jumps so that if she comes down on the edge I have less to run out of her charge than if I were in the middle, sometimes barely even having to move at all if the direction lines up. If she comes down in the middle it's easy to run in from that point.

Adol seems to help lots during Siren for me. If I keep myself with adol, the debuffs don't seem to reach me and the fight becomes less of a burden. I also leech asap. Helps so much to not have to worry about getting charmed. =)

Thank you good sir. As a healer when i get a tank who stuns lunatic voice the first few times (may be more depending on how geared/skilled dps is) i tend to give them the commendation. DPS deserve credit too if they keep those crawling f**ks off of me, but not using valuable seconds esuna/leeching (depending which class i take) helps a lot in making things run smoother.

Although not as efficient as stunning, you can also avoid Lunatic Voice by stacking on Siren in the middle when she casts it.

That's not Lunatic Voice, that's a different attack (AoE charm) and can't be interrupted because she can't be targeted while she's casting it.
