Leviathan-Egi: What's its role going to be...?

Well, given that Leviathan had a healing ability in FFVIII (Restore), and the fact it's water aspected (Cure spells in FFXIV are actually water aspected), a healing/buffing type role would probably be likely (of course it would need to be balanced so as not to steal SCH's thunder). But at the very least it would be useful in a solo situation or off healing if needed.

Just saying. King Moogle is a Primal too and no egi for him.

I remember reading somewhere that Yoshi-P and some other people confirmed that King Moogle wasn't a Primal. King Moogle is just an instanced boss.

Not to mention the Primals are aligned with a specific element, which King Moogle is not.

Also, if you consider FF14 lore, the primals all had something to do with a specific era that related to their element (don't pay too much attention to lore, so not entirely sure).

During the quest to unlock King Moogle in 2.1 the quest said "is it another Primal?", which seemed to make people consider King Moogle a primal. However, I believe they were trying to make the characters of the game think it was a primal, yet turned out to be some big-ass Moogle.

I believe Good King Moggle Mog is considered to be an 'aetheric entity' - essentially a myth made corporeal. But you're right, he's not actually a Primal at all. Of course though the lines between Primal and aetheric entity are very blurry indeed, so I think it's just easier to call him a 'Primal' for clarity's sake even though he's something different.

I think either the AoE themed or Mini-healer themed Leviathan would work well. As long as he has some utility that provides interactivity with our spells.
Something in the lines of reducing def/mdef in an area or let unaspected damage deal more damage.

AoE Type:
Lvl 1 - Tail Whip - Deals 40 potency water damage in a cone-shaped area | instant / gcd ( his basic attack is weaker, further pushing him into the AoE role )
Lvl 1 - Geyser - Creates a fountain that deals 100 potency water damage around the target | cast 1sec / cd 25sec ( affected by spellspeed )
Lvl 20 - Demon Eye - Envelopes an area in water, deals 15 potency every 3 seconds and sustained magical defense reduction by 10% - lasts 30 seconds | cast 3sec / cd 90sec
Lvl 40 - Spring Water - Increases the target amount hit by the next bane by 4 more targets for a maximum of 7 targets ( selfbuff for the caster for 10seconds like surecast ) | instant cast / cd 60sec
Enkindle - Tidal Wave/Tsunami - Deals 220 potency damage in a wide line, pushes targets back and inflicts Slow for 30seconds

That'd make Leviathan great for AoE-heavy fights and dungeons like Coil T4 AND having interaction with the Summoner to extend his bane if needed.

But it's futile, they will probably make the Leviathan egi deadly boring and uncreative - thus either broken or useless.

I could see the Shiva Egi as the queen of snares and freezes from a distance while Ramuh gets all the thunderbolt action and paralyzing/stunning.

Could give the next Egi an ability to increase the potency for Miasma/II, Bio/II by 40% for 30sec, Either while already cast on the Mob, or precast Buff that lasts for 15 Sec on you. I think that would give Garuda a run for her money!

40% may be slightly too big of a buff. That would be a start though.

The dot empowering-buff should have been Ifrit's specialty since fire is about power.
I really hope they remove his flame shield attack for something that empowers the dots that the caster placed by 20% or something. Garuda extends, Ifrit empowers!

The only way I see a viable expansion to egi choice is making/utilizing weaknesses. Every primal is representative of a classic FF element, so until "has weakness to water, etc." actually becomes a mechanic to fighting, Garuda will be the go-to pet.

I hope it's a loooong cast (nonswiftable) one off. Like a true summoner of old. Leviathan would just drop down and do one epic attack(Tsunami) and leave.
