    In a previous post they said all new future egis will replace the old ones. Just like garuda and titan did for carby (I miss my carby). I think this idea is absolutely dumb...summoner in FFXI was amazing. I know its not the same game but that summoner mechanics were absutely amazing...

    it going to be a SMN Companion. if not, scholar was short changed when it comes to pets, and think about. It put a wall about you as a move and blocks incoming damage.

    I have to agree with other on this they have to be level cap increase. Otherwise they would have to add one more spell for every job so people wont bitch about how SMN have one more spell even tho it's a pet.

    FFXI Summoner lies forever in my dreams and I miss it a lot.
    Not gonna lie, I'll be pissed if they start overwriting egi's.
    How about instead overwriting summons, you maybe make us focus on them since Summoners are "pet" classes rather than "DoT" classes.

    OH God, Summoners in XI were so cool and it actually focused on the summons versus our DoT obsessed Summoners. I even think the control system was better/less complicated. ;w;
    Almost every newbie wanted to unlock Summoner the first chance they could get.
    Even if you hated the job, you'd have to admit that Summoners could put on a show.

    But summons are entirely mutually exclusive with each other on every level, so that's a nonissue.

    I mean as it stands a summoner could already complain that they only have four job abilities because Summon III has absolutely no functionality.

    well, it may be like we can trade-in garuda, ifirt, or titan, but i'll never trade in titans. ifirt maybe.

    Well thinking of how the egi's are now, and looking over what Leviathan did in Final Fantasy 11.. I think I've come up with a pretty decent idea of what he will do.

    First, Leviathan will be a melee attacker.

    First ability, Barracuda Dive - Minor slashing attack with a potency of 120- 3 sec cooldown
    Second ability, Tail Whip - Minor Blunt attack - added effect of silence - potency of 90 - 40 second cooldown
    Third ability, Spinning Dive - AOE slashing attacking in area around Leviathan of 7 yalms - potency 100 - 30 second cooldown
    Fourth ability, Tidal Roar - Lowers attack of mobs nearby mobs by 10% for 10 seconds - 60 second cooldown
    Enkindle ability, Tidal Wave - Deals water damage to mobs in a cone in front of egi - additional effect Heavy for 15 seconds, 250 potency

    This will now give us a melee option other than Ifrit, Ifrit makes a better pvp pet, Leviathan will now make a PVE pet melee range AND one that can be useful on bosses with his 60 second cooldown to lower damage of mobs by 10%. He will get both Slashing and Blunt damage so pairing him with a Dragoon or Monk will be useful for extra dps or if there is no melee, then you can take Garuda instead.
