I do agree with you on that part.
But we also have to look at what's here now, because I do not see them making a new class until expansion time, new jobs yes, so to make another range/physical class, it would be taking archer/bard and giving them a soul crystal for probably ranger. Now by making ranger, they would basically take away the songs, probably give it elemental shots and increase the out dps (but as for a limit break what would they use? melee's lb, if they give them the healing one they are really just saying the don't like archers lol, and dropping the meteor? naaa, using the tank one? nope, althought it would be funny for them to get it.. so the lb would be an issue currently) and I think they while increase their damage/dps would need to adjust them so they need to become stationary, because if they could be mobile and pure dps.. it would upset the balance and all raids would then state they require a bard, ranger, melee for lb, and then 4th dps spot is optional (which probably would end up going to ranger for more dps lol).
They need to be very careful on the next job they release so that they don't upset the balance.. which means I think there will probably be 2 or 3 released together, and make it so that they will balance out.
Also, if you look at your chart another way.
There currently are 2 piercing dps(1 range and 1 melee), 2 magic dps(both range), and 1 blunt dps, 0 slashing dps. So it would also make sense to bring out a slashing dps class (Dark Knight based off Gladiator, imo), a range blunt damage (gun user), and maybe a melee buffer/debuffer (dancer) or even 1 melee magic dps (Red Mage)
By looking at it that way too, we can now use slashing dps with the dark knight, we can also get a 2nd option for support (dancer) to counter the bards who would switch to the range blunt damage (gun user) class, and a red mage for magic damage/elemental swords in melee range (and also slashing damage so maybe red mage instead of dark knight?)
Now I still don't think archer 2nd job will be a gun user, it will still be another archer class.. ranger is the only one that makes sense (unless they want a pet class then go the hunter way) and still be piercing. Reason I just feel the corsair won't come out until expasion. I feel each city at expasnion will get a new base class. Corsair (or equivalent) from Limsa, Thief into ninja for Ul'dah. Geomancer style from Gridania will be next expansion.
So only thinking of what is here now, and what they could turn the classes into is what I'm willing to expect. Gladiator does paladin right now, so dark knight or red mage imo are the next jobs for it (sword and shield.. people keep thinking the scythe, but remember scythe was ONLY in ff 11, ffx-2 was 2 handed sword, and the other final fantasy, 3, 4, and tatics were sword and shield),
Maruder is a giant axe, into warrior, so giant axe class maybe Viking, or Geomancer?(I still think Geo though will be part of Gridania's new job/class expansion)
Puglist is fist, soooo puppet master like 11? or dancer?(in all final fantasy's that use dancers who do damage, they fight with fists, fans, or purses, sooo), probably dancer because of the forms mechanic working with the dances.
Lancer is spear, soo? (I honestly can't think of another spear class in final fantasy, so options here???)
Archer is bow, so like I said, Ranger
Con and THM both use staffs and rods, sooo time mage, green mage, classes like that? BUT I've been thinking, what about a 50 CON and 50 THM become a Sage? This way. the Sage class (which you would still need to spend your att points one way or another to specialize and probably do something else to give them a healing benefit or dps benefit.. like maybe if equipped a Staff you would be more healing focused, if you equipped a rod you would be more DPS focused.
