I am far too lazy to cite my source, but I am 99% certain that I saw a quote from Yoshi-P saying that there will definitely be new classes and/or jobs and a level cap increase BEFORE the next expansion.

I'm reading this as there is a small chance we get a new class with 2.2, and that it will be Corsair as a class, with Muskateer and Thief jobs stemming from it.

like said a high number of time, you have more chance to see the level cap raise...before they add a new class to the game.

Based upon what, exactly? Yoshi has said a few times that he'd like to add classes/jobs as part of patches rather than expansions so unless Yoshi stops having control over the game entirely, I'd say that it's probably pretty likely.

I'm hoping it sticks to using a single pistol. Dual pistols are kind of overdone and looks a little silly. I find something really cool about using a single pistol with deadly efficiency and accuracy.

Also I support Corsair becoming a healing job as one of Musketeers branches. Using Dice and Card visuals for different effects, it would be hard, but this game has a few spots where I can see you getting the job at, there's plenty of pirates.

We really don't need another dps at this point in time, adding in musketeer will only make a serious problem worse. DPS can just plain forget about using duty finder without a tank or healer in tow, because you aren't getting in. Game seriously needs a desirable tank class.

While we may not NEED another DPS class/job right now, Musketeer has been something SE has wanted to do since the beginning and has had a presence in the game since the beginning. Plus, it fills in the gap of having only one physical ranged DD (as opposed to melee DD and magical DD, which we have two of).

As for the "desirable tank class", the problem is less with the classes and more with the role. SE can make the most effective, most fun tank class the industry has ever seen and a lot of people still wouldn't play it because of the fact that it's still a tank. Some people don't like taking on the responsibility of being a tank, for whatever reason. The tanks we have right now are fine and adding a new tank class without fixing the real problem (people not wanting to play tanks) will just offer a new job to the people who want to tank, and a new job for people who ignore if they don't like tanking.

While it won't *fix* the problem, it will address it to some extent. As soon as you add a new class, people tend to flock to it to check it out (novelty). Even if only a small number of people stick with it, you're still getting more tanks (a tank that swaps classes is still a tank, but a DPS or healer that swaps is now a tank). It also ignores the possibility that some people don't go with a tank role because there isn't a playstyle they enjoy more than one of the larger number of available DPS options (I had a discussion along these terms with someone else a few weeks back; can't remember exactly where).

The idea that you don't need more tank or healers options because not as many people enjoy playing those roles is something of a self-fulfilling prophecy, especially when you're providing 4 times as many options for one role as you are for the others. Yes, there's a skew towards the number of people that play DPS, but you can't draw the conclusion that everyone that plays DPS does so because they don't like tanking because there is a *monumental* skew towards the number of DPS classes (and always has been). Try imagining a game where there are an equal number of tank classes compared to DPS and healer classes; I can *assure* you that the ratio between them, while it would still have a higher number of DPS, relative to the others, it would have a *much* more balanced population amongst the given roles.

Adding new DPS classes just exacerbates the problem: DPS has even *more* options so the chance of finding a preferred playstyle amongst DPS is greater and adding new DPS classes provides them with additional novelty, which is actually going to pull tanks away.

Every class that WoW has added has been capable of tanking. The reason why it never did as much as it *could* have was because they always added at least the same number of DPS "classes" thanks to the talent trees. Adding a class that can *only* tank is going to increase the tank population no matter what (unless you honestly believe that everyone that plays is a mono-role player). The question you have to ask is how much it will increase it.

Well naturally. It's always nice to have new tank and healer options and I do hope that one-day we will be getting them, but I don't think we need them right now when there are other things that I'm sure the development team would like to get out the door first (like the Musketeer and the rogue-like class so people can be THFs).

I'm sure when thief and musketeer come out and they have no tanks for dungeons they'll be ecstatic that dps release was prioritized above actually being able to play content in a timely manner. Same thing with healers before 30. While it won't be extreme with 1 or 2 more dps it is most certainly not a trend that should continue and should be avoided if at all possible.

DPS releases should have a tank/healer release coincide with them or else strain on some content is just going to be too much. Its all well and good that the majority that already has tons of options get even more but accessibility to content is already a problem. Adding more dps while ignoring tanks/healers solves one problem and makes one worse while adding more tanks and healers is only a plus. Unless of course you consider not getting EVERYTHING you ask for a downside.
