Chocobos are only as good as the person controlling them. There are commands, if you use them, they can be very good healers, and tanks. I have 2 rank 6. One tank, one healer. Love them both.4. Chocobo companions are beyond useless. They steal EXP, they are terrible at all their roles, and they are a logistical nightmare once they are summoned (you can't mount, you can't queue for anything, etc). They take forever to level, and you can only kill open world mobs with them - which are already mind numbingly easy even at 50. And once you level your chocobo, all you can do with it is...kill more world mobs? Why bother?
.
If CS cannot be skipped, I can really foresee people queuing CM/Prae will drop drastically. The 200 Phil is not worth is if you are forced to watch every CS, getting a group together and SR some would be much better if that is the case. People will do whatever is fastest for them to get what they want, not what is the nicest to people around them. And this is what they're doing with the Duty Roulette. Since the changes to Wanderer's Palace dropping mythology, and the discovery of WP speed runs, CM/Prae are barren places now. People would go there simply for spiritbonding. DR is supposed to help inject life to these places, so people can finish their storyline quests too.
Yelling at people to stop watching cutscenes would stop when cutscenes are no longer skippable. They will probably complain about that, but they can't force people to skip cutscenes, when they can't skip it themselves.
Wow, this type of feedback from the development team has destroyed any hope i had left.Hey all,
We brought up some of the issues raised in this thread and wanted to share the responses with you now:
In regards to showing the chance for critical hits, the team remarked that there are currently no plans to display this in the UI. Players can assume simply that as the stats that affect this grow larger, the effect will become greater.
The team is currently looking into an option to "skip all" cutscenes. The team has also been looking into a better incorporation of Chocobo Companions including allowing you to register for Duty Finder while having your companion out, as well as riding your companion while he's called. While the timing for these hasn't been decided we'll keep you aware when we hear more.
You are not o;
I can understand people wanting to skip cutscenes, like a party of free company people that have already done it maybe a hundred times, but the ability to leave someone behind just because it is their first time viewing the cutscene is ridiculous. To suggest one way according to another game, players engaged in cutscenes in a group basis. All players had to be present in an area to start a cutscene. All players were invincible during cutscenes. All players had to agree to skip. If say 3 of 4 people skipped, those 3 would have to wait before regaining control. It's so frustrating to see a cutscene for the first time...only for it to end and be left out of the boss fight .-.
Maybe FF14 could do it by simply not spawning the boss until all party members are not in "Viewing Cutscene" mode?
Edit: I am not against end game players wanting to repeat content a hundred times as fast as possible, but for dungeons from 1-50 that are required by the story line the least that could be done is a way to make people wait on those that actually want to see the story....
On that note..Hey all,

Let us summon pets during dungeons/trials/everywhere :\
Whs t about the fact that you can no longer manually add people to your Friends List whilst they are in an instance. Now we have to wait till they are out of that instance. Please revert back. Why take away the conveniences?

Yes, and it was used overwhelmingly because it was useful!
At least Blizzard acknowledged that showing players actual stats is helpful. This is just basic stuff that FFXIV should have had from the beginning. Giving us insulting answers when requesting this simple change certainly doesn't help either.
For the love of god, the battle bgm and lack of music has been suggested since ALPHA stages. Drop Soken or tell him to make actual bgm and not some 30 second intro track!
Well if something like that is the case they could at least gave an explanation along those lines. That said, my point was actually that by being obscure (as put by Ildur), the devs are also giving themselves room to scale and balance boss and special mobs separate from normal mobs and thus requiring different stat caps from players. It also means the devs may be using different rules for said mobs vs normal mobs.
Something informative like "We decided not to display crit % because it functions in a dynamic, situational manner that would be difficult to display in reasonably accurate way" instead of a patronizing "Nah, we're not going to do that. But good news: if you put more of that stat in your character it go up!"
