The bad thing about selling runs is that, as said by others in this thread, it fools people into thinking that a well geared, relic holding player is skilled. It also hurts those pugging xm primals right now. Although I only pull from an "elite" linkshell now, there were times in the past when I shouted in Rev Toll, got someone with a ton of myth and a relic, and they straight ate every plume, bomb, and landslide. Even good players who do coil weekly, who never took the time to learn the fight, are now struggling on this more difficult version of Titan, because they hopped in with FC members who actually took the time to learn it.

The ability to buy myth and the fact that it is the same level as coil gear is what is really bothersome to me. Theres no inclination wether a player is good or not based on gear. You literally have to take them in and see how they perform. Which, to me, isnt really a huge deal, just more of an annoyance and at times, humorous. Like, you pug titan xm, see someone wipe every 5 seconds, and the first thing everyone thinks is "wow he def bought his run".

In the end, I dont really care either way. I have fun playing my game, and dont compare myself to others progress. I personally just think it takes the fun out of the game to completely take the challenge out of the fight. The lazy people who dont want to learn a fight, who dont wipe 50+ times on something until they master it, then finally beat it with a team they have been practicing with, is such an awesome feeling. I would be bored to death if just bought every challenge in the game. On top of that, I take the time to learn each fight so that I become fluent with it, that way I can farm it as much as I want, as well as teach others.

Sadly, people have now moved on to selling coil runs. But as also said, I dont blame the sellers, I blame the lazy buyers. Most of us would probably sell runs if our group was good enough, had the time, or werent busy farming for ourselves or doing other content.

My solution: If I need to pug, and someone dies to basic mechanics, I replace them.
