While I'm glad they implemented jumping, I'm not real keen on the idea of jump quests. In few ways is it possible for it to make sense outside of a minigame or something.

This is how I like to see jump used. Hole in the ground? Jump over it. Low wall in the way? Jump over it.
I know WoW had various things like that, where in some dungeons you'd have to jump to get over a gap and such. Outside of 1 dungeon (with 1 achievement), there was only a single boss mechanic that I remember that required jump to avoid, but if you messed it up it was no big deal. You just didn't get the achievement for it.
jumping puzzles was the best thing on Gw2loved it , FFXIV needs more jumping!!!
FFXIV ARR has a jumping puzzle: Coil turn 3.

No no no no nope nope nope nope never never never ever want to do those silly Guild Wars2 jumping puzzles again...just NO!
We have our own JP in Mor Dhona, where people see someone on a hut/entrance top, everyone starts jumping randomly to reach it.
I loved jumping puzzles in Guild Wars 2. Yes, some of them were incredibly challenging, but I don't understand quitting GW2 over the jumping puzzles since they're entirely optional content. Rarely did I find the challenge was because of clunkiness with the system. The non-optional encounters that had jumping in them were simple obstacles to jump over and didn't require any degree of skill or luck to bypass.
That said, jumping puzzles will not work in FFXIV, even as completely optional content. Jumping in this game has so little control that puzzles would be nothing more than an exercise in frustration. At least in GW2 you had control over your character's direction and placement while in the air. In this game once you've jumped that's it. If they changed ARR to allow more control over your jump, then I could see it working.
After decades of playing shitty platformers... no. Just no. Please, god, no. Take this idea, burn it, bury what's left in the deepest, darkest recesses of the earth, and forget about it for time and eternity.
