On a more serious note, I hope they make a Crystal Chronicles worth playing.. If you ask me Echoes of Time suckedI still rather the Game Cube version... With the new controller it would make it easier than having to buy another Nintendo system.

I hope the new WII isn't half as disappointing or boring as the Nintendo press conference. I love "you haven't played this mario kart!", you add tilt, underwater, and a hang glider, thats not revolutionary its still the same effing engine from nintend64. Lets remake starfox 64 and add peoples faces on online mode. -_- when was the last time nintendo had a new ip? Why doesn't nintendo ever push their own consoles far? Its always left up to third party people to make a way better game then their effin six ips or so they have. Eff that, Idk if they made a new ip ever year for the last 25 years, I just don't care anymore. I'll sit my kids someday down in front of the tv and they can watch the Nintendo press conference, but the nostalgia they're offing I don't want again and again. I've played every remake of the legend of zelda there is to offer, make a new rated T or M zelda for this new console, do something new DAMNIT! I enjoy my ds and FF titles remade on it, but other than that I'm usually getting drunk while playing mario party and that is the extent of my wii enjoyment.
edit: give the legend of zelda to Atlus who made demon/dark souls. That would be punishing and sick!

Same. To be honest, I'm not expecting anything spectacular: stronger than the Wii, still weaker than the 360 and PS3, still no online service, still won't play DVDs. The best third-party attempt at trying to win over the hardcore market will be an on-rails shooter that nobody wants to play, serious development will cease, and the only games worth playing on the system will be first-party titles. Again.
Do kids effing watch E3 was the thought going through the Nintendo Press conference. Parents probably don't watch it unless they're younger and nerdier like us? I'm probably like 3-4 years away from kids, I guess I'd be watching e3 then >.<
i thought they were leaked. Some bs ati gpu with 25 gig for HDD and 8 gig for game saves, doesn't seem to really compete with my ps3? So maybe those are wrong. I thought they had to be wrong.

Wow really?.....
It was already said that the system would be as strong if not alittle stronger then the PS3 and 360 (did you not see Ninja Gaiden 3?)
Why does it need to play DVDs? I am buying a game system not a DVD palyer, I have a 360 and a PS3 that can play DVDs..... I dont need a third one.
No hardcore games........ did you watch E3?
Nope, Bad Idea for a bad console. Should stay PS3/PC.
I can't believe that people can't get over that fact that some of us weren't impressed with nintendo at E3. I also wasn't impressed with any of these supposed "hardcore" games.(matter of taste there on that one because I don't consider assassins creed is hardcore at all, its a pretty easy gaming franchise which has left me disappointed after the second installment)
I think its just funny we can't have a differing opinion, when I personally dont' care if you like the console why should anyone care if people don't. They spent most of their time on kids games, it was only after the 45 year old work out crowd bit (weigh yourself crap, yeah my mom is 50 and a personal trainer she's not using a wii and she's not watching e3 for that), that they finally got to "hardcore" games and I wasn't impressed. Its okay if other people are though because we all have different tastes, the only thing we should honestly have in common is "we like FFXIV to an extent" lol.
edit: the new controller seems awful for those of us used to our triggers where they are lol.
It's impossible to make that judgment without the specs for the system, which they've been quiet about thusfar. As you can probably tell from the tone of my post, I'm not too hopeful. Considering that their plans for storage are SD and USB (which are god-awfully slow compared to the SATA drives that the other two consoles are using), I'm even less hopeful.
In addition to that, they haven't said a word about online support, something which is obviously a big deal to many people.
I don't actually care about DVD playback. I was just poking fun.Why does it need to play DVDs? I am buying a game system not a DVD palyer, I have a 360 and a PS3 that can play DVDs..... I dont need a third one.
Where'd I say there'd be no hardcore games? I implied that their best attempt is going to be something shitty, and support for the console will eventually be dropped in favor of the other two consoles, which have already proven themselves at better supporting a hardcore base than Nintendo has.No hardcore games........ did you watch E3?
Well official tech specs haven't been released yet but IMB are making the processor and they said:
They said it does 1080p and also takes SD and USB external HDD as additional storage. Devs have said it is a very capable console at the very least on par with the 360 and PS3 so should be able to run FFXIV.Like IBM, who today issued a press release boasting some of the Wii U's hardware specifications, including the fact the microprocessor serving as "the heart" of the console is a custom 45nm chip, with embedded DRAM that "is capable of feeding the multi-core processor large chunks of data to make for a smooth entertainment experience".
Now if they can get this on the Wii U I would love it just think of the possibilities with that controller. You got the touch screen on controller which could have all your action bars and macro bars on so you can just quickly touch them. It could have a chat/keyboard button which would change the screen to keyboard layout so you can type out a message. It could house all your widgets and chat log so you to clear clutter up from your screen. You could put the mini map on it or your parties HP bars so you can keep a close eye on them.
I really think it could be great on the Wii U, of course the biggest problem would be getting SE to put all these idea's into action and not just do a straight port.
Ahmen sister, I honestly would be surprised to find any hardcore gamers that would consider this new system for hardcores. I'm not saying it doesn't have a place in the family room, however its not a platform that FFXIV could be easily ported to due to its hardware limitations and the differences in controls.I can't believe that people can't get over that fact that some of us weren't impressed with nintendo at E3.
