    Luckily the cheapest house is 4 mil gil, but how many members are willing to shell out that amount in the upcoming month when personal housing may come along in 6m time?

    The fact that you can get approx lv 40 + mats from vendors = gathering/ crafting class must sell below those npc prices in the LONG run.

    20 Million on Balmung. If it was 4 million, there may be less of an uproar, but the legacy servers having most of the old players also means they brought a lot of new friends, and now you have a lot of people from post 2.0 and pre alike stuck with the smallest available plot being anywhere from 20-25 million gil.
