Thanks to Google Translate...
Translation of title: The price of land is too high
Translation of OP: Well it's probably not gonna change anything but I still can't help it so I'm gonna provide feedback on this.
After looking at the patch note, I was surprised at how extremely highly priced legacy server plots are.
Even M size fifth class plots start at 0.15 billion gil...even after 3 months it's still 80 million gil...
Yes there are probably people with that much money, but aren't they just a very small portion of the population?
And it'll belong to an FC, so I also think it's not exactly right to have one person pay all that...
I don't know how much gil the system calculated to exist on the server after the patch, but isn't this price a little too high?
If you say real life land costs about that much, well I think that's got nothing to do with Eorzea.
This is very sad. I was hoping we could enjoy it more leisurely. </translation>
Remember, that's Google Translate, I'd love for someone with actual knowledge of Japanese to translate it.Thanks, Zfz!
Either way: 657 likes so far. Let's add some weight from the non-Japanese speaking world to the group that are likely to be listened to first! 'Like' that first post of theirs!
Yoshi, please fix the pricing, drop it by a factor of 10.

I checked the linked JP thread in the OP recently. I don't read Japanese, but I did understand all the bold, red text, bullet points and exclamation points in even recent posts there (like on page 178,). My, oh, my, what a firestorm.

half a million views
guess they are more pissed then us after all, lets see this white knighted away![]()
Pricing is ridiculous. The entire server shouldn't be punished because a few douchebags duped gil and SE just hasn't been able to catch em yet.
I think this is their way of reducing the amount of gil on the server, but I think it's the wrong method. Drop them by a factor of 100 and require a monthly upkeep that's realistic.

Y'know, this is really starting to bug the crap out of me. These people who are disagreeing with you? They aren't "White Knights." They're called PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT OPINIONS. I can guarantee, the second you post an opinion that's positive about the game and goes against the popular consensus, you'll be labelled a "White Knight" as well.
the countless post here about how it is a the right thing to do, now this game is for the hardcore, you don't have the data se has ect ect are not white knights? please you may live in some other reality then I do as well as the HALF MILLION Japanese and the 2000 post stating this is horrible....

No, those would be the elitist jerks who want the game to be only for them. If you check their previous posts, most of them are bashing the game for being "too casual." These are the same people who were complaining that getting to L50 should take years, and questing for a Relic should be a one year ordeal, so that only the "hardcores" can have it.the countless post here about how it is a the right thing to do, now this game is for the hardcore, you don't have the data se has ect ect are not white knights? please you may live in some other reality then I do as well as the HALF MILLION Japanese and the 2000 post stating this is horrible.
As to the people saying that you don't have the data SE has? Well, yeah, you don't. Not exactly the best point, but at least it's true.
And what reality do I live in, exactly? The one where I see people as human beings, rather than trying to de-humanize them with labels so that I can feel better about myself for having a different opinion? Or, based on the second part of your post, are you referring to the fact that I'm happy about the housing news? Because, news flash, I'm not. I'm 100% apathetic towards it.

I would be more willing to give the benefit of the doubt if this was an isolated incident, but it's not. First, they release a game that most can't log into (I can almost guarantee someone lost their job over that by the way. Hopefully their incompetent IT Admin in Montreal). Second, they had to suspend sales (either their marketing team is run by monkeys, or the board is so cheap they wanted to let the problem snowball in the hopes people would leave and they wouldn't have to buy or rent additional equipment. If the former, someone got fired). Third, the dev team can't even write basic netcode. They can't release a single update without massive problems and when they occur, they do nothing to try to stop gap and instead just sit there and watch as their coding starts locking up hardware. Really? If I had people like that where I work, they may get a pass the first time, but if it happened a second time, they would be walked out (ESPECIALLY if they are costing the investors money).Exactly. This is what pisses me off about the forums. Okay, you don't like the prices. That's fine. Say you don't like it, like the civilized posts that agree with you. Great.
But then comes the smugness, the threats, and the insults (i.e. "Ha! Look at us! We sure showed SE. They're so dumb don't know how to do anything. They better listen to us or we'll quit!") Some people are even going so far as to say the dev team should be fired only because of the housing prices. I think the prices of housing plots are on the high side, too, but part of me hopes Yoshi just posts a picture of himself giving everyone the finger in response to all this.
If their employees can't do their jobs, what good are they? Square needs to find people that can. Market is saturated with coders. Plenty of people lining up to replace them, do a better job, and get paid less. This isn't even touching the well of crap on the actual position Yoshi is assigned to. He's a PR figure head and nothing more than that. Him saying he has pull in regards to what content goes in and out isn't true (or very little pull. He doesn't care about his player base as we can see. He cares about appeasing the CFO and the board so he can keep getting paid). It's the dev leads that control what goes in and what goes out. These are the guys to see about getting stuff fixed and the guys who have actual working knowledge of what can and can't be done. Yoshi was hired to choke up and get stoked to keep us pacified and playing.
