    I was hanging by a thread playing SMN. I know not everyone agrees with the minority that wanted aesthetic changes done to the Egi, but it had went on my con list. The horrid way our pets act and the fact SMN didn't rely fully on their Summons as well was a con. I'm not so sure anymore how much I'll be focusing on SMN come 2.1 seems like my best bet would to be SCH instead. I'll still see how this plays out, but I didn't go into 2.1 and expect anyone, aside from BRD, to have a nerf. Not sure the direction of the jobs anymore especially since the nerfs effect the ones I play.

    And the Allagan boot stat swap? Thanks SE so much for aiming high on my SMN if I do stick with it...

    I don't have any words for this. The housing prices hit pretty hard, but now this? Boots (For both blm and smn) and thunder? THUNDER? Straight up cut to dps and so many problems with our pets.

    *sigh*

    Just when I was finally getting my FC to understand smn wasn't bad to take to things... This happens.

    OK, someone's got to keep his head while others are losing theirs.

    *I see no reason to sweat the loss of Thunder. All the DoT spells SMNs have make this hardly anything to go ape-dump over. It wasn't even in my primary hotbar and could hardly be called a go-to spell.
    *The Shadow Flare changes are pretty meaningless considering nothing's ever bound or asleep, anyway. All this really means is now people need to keep and eye on what they're targeting.
    *Changes to Coil boots shouldn't have any major impact. Besides, Summoner's boots haven't gone anywhere.

    I swear some of you make Chicken Little look even-keeled.

    Yeah i hardly used Thunder on smn. And I still got that precious little "2" and a almost full aggro bar near my name.

    BLM was already a better job then SMN, but this makes BLMs even more better. Doesn't make too much sense the change.

    My prediction: SE will keep war amazingly devastating in PvP so later down the line you must do lolPvE to get PvP stuff... and that will fix the 'lack of tank' issues. /pets cat.

    With all due respect, it was in a lot of SMN's main hot bar. Contagion even extended the duration and its potency is on par with miasma and bio ii. We don't have another DoT that comes close to that lvl, certainly not miasma ii. It's not game-breaking by any means, but when SMN was already not high on people's choice in DPS, this makes it less appealing to even the people who play it.

    Can we make up the DPS for it? Sure, by spamming Ruin. Joy. Cause that hasn't gotten old yet, right?

    I can say I'm really disappointed like most in this thread...
    Since so many ground aoes will remove the bind status, Tri-Disaster will be even more useless than it already was!
    Sustain was good as it was, I have no clue why they changed it to MP!
    Thunder is another major point, that will heavily impact the use of contagion - but there's still no reason to choose Ifrit of Gardua!
    Bane didn't really get "buffed" as the original effect stated it hits ALL monsters, it just "officially" got nerfed just there - the range might come in handy in some battles but it wasn't really that needed as it won't hit more than 3 targets to begin with...

    I dunno how I should feel about the Blizzard II thingy, I mean BLM will be nerfed at the same time but they don't need to worry about mana while spamming it..... WE do!

    Scholars will be somewhat affected as well since the Virus will give the super long antibody effect (which was totally unneeded as Virus was already bad enough that it got replaced immediately by another virus, even if it was inferior..). Which means, other classes like WHM and BLM should definitely NOT use virus if a SMN/SCH is in their parties, making them waste a slot too. Their Adlo will still make you get pushed back or Paralyzed even if it blocks the attack completely...

    And you actually have to be careful not to overwrite a Ranging Striked DoT too early now because it will actually be possible to do so.

    But hey, atleast we can dot up walls and barricades which does 0 sense... I mean try to poison a wooden box which causes their lungs to fail... uh yeah right.... definitely!
