    With Scholar/Summoner they could have had a passive Trait so that for every 10 levels you've leveled on Thaumaturge(Intelligence)/Conjurer(Mind), you get a point in their respective main stat (max 5 in each) to mitigate this (and maybe, for Black Mage and White Mage, for every 10 levels in Arcanist they get Piety bonus? Creating synergy between the three DoM classes), the same could be done for Gladiator(Strength)/Marauder(Vitality) as tanks and so on for Melee (Strength/Dexterity? Vitality?) and Ranged (once Musketeer is implemented, would probably be Dexterity/Vitality). It would encourage the One Character-All Jobs playstyle that should be a unique selling point for this game (yet is undermined by shared stats and lockouts).

    I feel the same way. My summoner feels like a reject that I only bring out when we need an extra DPS to help someone with end game story dungeons lol

    More bad design decisions, more over convoluted fan drivel justifying those bad decisions, so disappointing. It would be really easy to make one of the job crystals flip MND and INT but I guess even that is too complicated. Why even keep advertising the Armoury System then? Makes no sense, 10K seals is still a bandaid for the real issue and a really bad excuse.

    Glad someone said that. The people who are ok with this system don't play a sum/sch or are white knights.
    I'm not going to defend the game. I, personally, feel the stat boosts would have been better attached to the character and not the classes but then that would have been more of Tanaka's legacy and lets be honest... do not want. The system we have now isn't perfect but it's better than... well, already said it so no point repeating. It's better than nothing. Sure, other games have done 'better' jobs but there's a reason you don't see those systems in more games. Alot of the time those systems are proprietary to the games they're in. In a world full of MMOs it's hard to do something unique that wouldn't get you sued.

    Same here.
    I used to have 30 in piety or 15/15 so I didn't favour one job over another. Then I met T4 and its ridiculous amounts of damage. Changed to 30 mind after the first try.

    Now I don't play SMN, prefer to just go BLM. But we needed choices, even though it came at the expense of others. Deep and complex

    But worry not, once the second job of Thaumaturge comes out, we'll see an overhaul. Mister director loves Black Mages and won't let them get harmed.

    I HIGHLY doubt that Pally and WHM will get DD jobs at least not at a level 50 cap with only 5 job skills. My reasoning (as someone who mains SCH) is ACN is DESIGNED to be able to branch off into 2 classes. It has 2 summons built in that turn into summons for SMN and SCH, it has support skills to carry over to SCH plus a heal and raise, and DD skills to carry over to SMN which is why I consider SCH a bit of a jack of all trades due to the very minor difference between SMN and SCH DPS skills. ANYWAY WHM us basically ALL support and heal skills with 4 DD skills and 5 DD skills on top of that WOULDN'T turn it into a DD especiailly when you take into consideration usually at least 1-2 job skills are self buffs or support skills. As for Gladiator it has attacks in its skill set that produce Enmity naturally more than you'd usually generate so they'd have tht to compete with as a DD which would likely make the ACTUAL tanks job even harder

    And no other job gives you TWO jobs from one single class.... You level one class, and you instantly have both jobs...
    If you want separate stats, then they would probably make separate classes from them.
    OMG I have to make a CHOICE??? One that is not permanent but makes my choice meaningful?? in an RPG? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Huh? Where do I unlock additional jobs for Lancer, Archer, Conjurer, Gladiator, Thaumaturge and Pugilist? I've done everything in ARR till this point - hitting 50 on everything (since that's not content)..maybe I need full 50s to unlock the rest? D:
