Dude what kind of kiddygame MMORPGs have you been playing? The harder the challenge in a game usually always is suppose to reward you with the best weapons/gear. That's like every MMORPG, pretty much. Save a lot of the F2P hand out MMORPGs.

				isn't that what I said?
"the hardest content should reward the best stuff, period" <--- direct quote from my last post. {please check it}

Why not just have the best items in the game get sent to us weekly in the moogle mail? I pay my fees, I want them items. All of them.

well, there has got to be some effort put in. Perhaps you can fill out an item request form, and if SE pays enough attention, they will send you the one you want. The challenge becomes: What do you do if they send you the wrong one? what if you wanted that Argute Mortarboard and they send you the Valor Coronet instead...? what happens then?
OR
Weekly, you get one chance to answer a Final Fantasy Trivia Question... get it right and you get an item.
OORRR they can make you watch/listen to the Tidus laughing cutscene for 10hrs straight. Then, and only then, do you get a full set of Allagan gear.
Nope, casuals would still complain about this one. They just aren't willing to put in the time.
Then they will nerf the laughing cutscene down to 5 hours and the hardcores will complain.

				pun·ish
ˈpəniSH/
verb
verb: punish; 3rd person present: punishes; past tense: punished; past participle: punished; gerund or present participle: punishing
1.
inflict a penalty or sanction on (someone) as retribution for an offense, esp. a transgression of a legal or moral code.
You're not being punished. They're balancing content, it happens often in MMO's.
SE never said that relics would be the only weapon we'd ever need or that they'd always be the best weapon available. As others have said relic is very easy to get... why should something easy to get be as powerful as the hard to get items?

If they nerfed relics, it would be a punishment.
Boosting other weapons is a reward.
Give them props for going the positive route.
*Cough* Direct quote from the April Live Letter *Cough*Lol I'm totally against buying wins, if you read the whole thread you might see my comment as to that may have contributed to the problem. Buy ill say this again. This grown ass man went back on his word and to me he is a chump for that. But most of you probably aren't man or women enough to understand that.
So PLEASE enlighten us as to what promise Yoshi is breaking again?[0:14:31]
Q: Compared to primal weapons and relic weapons, how strong are you planning to make the weapons from Crystal Tower and the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut?
A: *Art of new rewards are shown in the video.
Since there were so many weapon drops from primals in 1.0 we tried hard to make some armor as well. That's not to say that they will come from primals, but we've worked hard to make full sets of gear for various fights.
For weapons, the strongest items will be those dropped from the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut, and we have a created a clear path for progression through content and gear. When you're level 50 you can clear a scenario and go after a good primal weapon. Once you have that, you can challenge the Crystal Tower, and get items from there. After that, challenge the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut. The difficulty of content and the strength of items will follow this order, going up and up. Both primal weapons and relics will have their own place in this hierarchy, and primal weapons are not at the top.
