I mean Im still on my first run through here and havent even got near the "end" of the current V2 storyline and thats before its expanded with 2.1 so obviously I'm gonna be watchin Dungeon cutscenes when they come up, seems unfair I could get booted for wanting to enjoy the main selling point of the FF games - the story!

Or could you add a Duty Finder option that allows groups to be formed where all players want to watch cut-scenes?
in 2.1 you'll be able to tick box for your purpose of playing dungeon
if you join event marked as [Speed Run] and start watching cut scenes, you'll be rightfully kicked
if you join event marked as [New Player], you should not expect kick, and if you do get kicked, you have rightful case to call GM for griefing.

He just said if they did that then what about the people who are afk but stuck in a cutscene cause now it popped? They'd be sitting there afk for the longest because there'd be no way to boot them..... pretty sure thats what he was directing at.

I totally understand your point though because it bugs me when people are like "Just skip cutscenes you can see them in the inn." Especially now that we can just do stuff like wanderer palace or amdapor keep for tomes so in lower stuff than that... its pretty annoying for people who already did it to do that. :x

Even if it doesn't work while a cutscene is active I imagine it will immediately after.

I think this is the new server board for parties. I don't think this will be an option for DF groups. Unless you see it noted elsewhere otherwise.

And it sounds like Hvinire is saying that to avoid the AFK by staying in cutrscene would be the new issue.

exactly, dont use dutyfinder to find members for a speed run, simple as that.

    .

I remember joining a CM run where 6 out of 8 left due to someone admitting it was his first time .

Being kicked out of a Story dungeon especially is poor design when youre forced to do them and you risk losing new players at the cost of some ill mannered customer who is going to pay you in eithet case.

There must be a functionality to prevent new players from being kicked out of a story dungeon the first time they run it.

There's a problem here: Some cutscenes have dialogue that must be manually advanced by the player. Thus, people can stay in certain cutscenes forever and prevent the party from progressing. So kick still needs to be possible during a cutscene

Good of you to speak for all the folks that play this game. Glad we got that all cleared up now, silly folks thinking people might enjoy playing in ways you don't like.

Regardless, the system, as posted, seems fine. If someone wants to needlessly hold everyone else up they'll get the boot. Majority rules.

As C-croft said, this isn't for DF. The Party Board will let you find groups on your own server more easily, it's separate from DF.

    You must have missed this.

That said, as stated by Yoshida previously, we will take abuses of the system seriously and will take action against those using it for malicious purposes.
When you're in a DF group, you don't get to make the rules, majority or not. Kicking one person who may be new, and is watching Cutscenes, can easily be seen as abuse.

Great, so what you're saying is those of us who actually like to watch the cut scenes in game as they're supposed to be viewed (minority) will be overridden by people who just want you to mash through the scenes and watch them later, when you're not in the context of playing through the story. SUPER LAME!!! I'm all for a vote kick system but not if it means I can't play the game the way I like. I should be able to watch the cut scenes in-game if I want to!!!
