We checked on this with the UI team who informed us that the kick option cannot be used until 5 minutes after the start of the dungeon. However, even if a player is in a cutscene, the kick feature can be initiated if there are enough votes to support it. You have to consider the fact that if it was not possible to kick people that were intentionally going AFK while watching a cutscene, then there would be more issues.

That said, as stated by Yoshida previously, we will take abuses of the system seriously and will take action against those using it for malicious purposes.

Surely your systems know when players are in cut-scenes given how it says so in the Party List - cant you simply disable the kick function on players in cut-scene?

I mean Im still on my first run through here and havent even got near the "end" of the current V2 storyline and thats before its expanded with 2.1 so obviously I'm gonna be watchin Dungeon cutscenes when they come up, seems unfair I could get booted for wanting to enjoy the main selling point of the FF games - the story!

Or could you add a Duty Finder option that allows groups to be formed where all players want to watch cut-scenes?

They could still get kicked the second the CS is over.

There will always be abuses. The only way to truly remove such abuse would be to make it impossible to kick someone doing the dungeon for their first time. Make so that if it's in your Journal for a story quest, you can not be kicked. Period.

Absolutely not. First timers can be kick-worthy too, they're just as likely as anyone else to be abusive.

I've never once heard anyone complaining about an abusive first timer. Ever.

in 2.1 you'll be able to tick box for your purpose of playing dungeon
if you join event marked as [Speed Run] and start watching cut scenes, you'll be rightfully kicked
if you join event marked as [New Player], you should not expect kick, and if you do get kicked, you have rightful case to call GM for griefing.

I think this is the new server board for parties. I don't think this will be an option for DF groups. Unless you see it noted elsewhere otherwise.

And it sounds like Hvinire is saying that to avoid the AFK by staying in cutrscene would be the new issue.

As C-croft said, this isn't for DF. The Party Board will let you find groups on your own server more easily, it's separate from DF.

    You must have missed this.

When you're in a DF group, you don't get to make the rules, majority or not. Kicking one person who may be new, and is watching Cutscenes, can easily be seen as abuse.

Nice theory, pity it's fatally flawed .. SE haven't said this is against the 'rules' so a GM won't do anything.

As someone else said, players on their 'noob' run through should not be kickable, period!

/kick is going to cause huge amounts of griefing on NA/EU servers, it won't be seen on JP servers because they're not infested with ass-hats like we have to put up with.

This is so true. I have been in groups with some wonderful people who are patient and also knowledgeable. Then I get the "FFS Hurry up Tank I needz Lewtz" brigade.
