Doesn't matter, a few days after release these guys will be only running whatever's the fastest way to gather tomes. Then it's back to screaming that there's no content when they are purposefully ignoring 99% of it.
There isn't even 99% worth of content to ignore with and without the patch.
Loot lockout is fine, I should still be able to run coil as much as I want though (if only to help others get loot).
To all the "get a life" people, Its pretty easy to have a life and do lots of other stuff while only playing FFARR an hour a week.
I'm the Bloodgaru Queen.
Say hypothetically there are no lockouts at all in the game, no myth cap, no coil lock outs. The complaining about lockouts would be shifted to a lot more to "I have full ilvl90 gear on all my jobs and I don't have anything left to do", instead of "I only play 1 day a week because of coil lockouts." People would burn through coil and gear all their jobs with ilvl 90 gear in about 1 month time if they played a lot and there was no lockouts.

So them playing the game whenever and however they want affects you how?Say hypothetically there are no lockouts at all in the game, no myth cap, no coil lock outs. The complaining about lockouts would be shifted to a lot more to "I have full ilvl90 gear on all my jobs and I don't have anything left to do", instead of "I only play 1 day a week because of coil lockouts." Let's say hypothetically, that if they didn't have lockouts the game would have a different kind of loot system perhaps? that's the thing about hypothetical situations they are rarely the case, if they removed lockouts they would obviously balance the game in other ways to make progression not instantanious.
You want people to start feeling the stupidity of loot and dungeon lockouts per character? Simple. Remove the ability to purchase myth items until you clear lets say t2. Then the "I dont care about loot" people will be able to enjoy their "content" in their DL gear that is able to clear 99% of the game. Heck, why not just remove myth items as a whole. That will make the game last even longer for sure.
Yes they could lower drop rates for sure, but that is nothing to power gamers who will burn through all content with no lockouts.Let's say hypothetically, that if they didn't have lockouts the game would have a different kind of loot system perhaps? that's the thing about hypothetical situations they are rarely the case, if they removed lockouts they would obviously balance the game in other ways to make progression not instantanious.
How does this effect the casual or less hardcore "Core" gamer?
All I know is that no matter my play level (Ranges from hardcore to extremly casual depending on my situation) that I am locked out of content on a rather frequent basis. Let the 1%'s "Beat" the game while the rest of us get to enjoy the game at our own pace and not be told we aren't doing thing properly.
A) No Lock, Low drop: Hurts the casual player.
B) No Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the company. (People will spam farm then unsub.)
C) Lock, Low drop: Hurts everyone.
D) Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the hardcore.
B and C are definitely out, obviously. A Hurts a majority of players, where D hurts a minority.
You can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.
