Cap is already going up to 450 for everyone, what more do you want?
Cap is already going up to 450 for everyone, what more do you want?
In a game where people claw over each other like bums for crumbs for speed runs..... no one is rushing?
I'm thinking that your definition for whats 'rushing' is more than likely different than mine. So there will be a large difference in opinion between us on that.
Someone who put "end game" on hold to level every class to 50 before 2.1 with the goal of experiencing as much of the game as possible and has done every pre-50 dungeon on every class is considered a content locust? How is someone who completed over 200 dungeons and 2,400 fates before doing a relic quest perceived as a locust?
I mean, come on? Really?
This guy is talking about increasing the myth cap slightly for every level 50 DoW and DoM you have. It would take a very long time to gear every class in myth gear even with an increased cap. The OP is right, the current system locks you into progressing one job at end game. It sucks when you are doing coil and the team could use and extra brd or blm but no one has a gear set good enough for t5.Lets go with this. If that's the case.... why would you want to implement something to make people run out of things to do.... 'faster'? By this logic of people running out of things to do.... you want to give them more reason to burn through that stuff even faster, so that the problem grows worse?
Overall, a small increase in the myth cap would only be beneficial. How do I know? SE is increasing the cap in patch 2.1. Why not increase the cap by 50 points for every 50 job you have? It really is not that different from what the OP proposed vs. what SE is planning on doing.

Gear your other classes up in DL then, it's perfect gear for 99.9% of endgame.
The fact that most of the people crying in here for more chances to level their alts in ilv90 gear haven't even touched Coil with their main is just :/
Disclaimer: I didn't read the whole thread.
Disclaimer 2: I'm a filthy casual
With that being said, I actually think this is a smart idea. It makes sense to me to offer an adjustable amount of tomes based on how many classes you need to gear at level 50.
I add my support to this idea!
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.
If they did something like that, people will complain that they're forced to level multiple classes to level 50, and the guy with all jobs to level 50 is going to complain that it takes too long for him to hit his cap.
The crux of the problem is that this game is rather unfriendly for alts. The payment structure doesn't encourage you to do this, and just thinking about doing normal primals again is probably enough to discourage you from doing it.
lol at horrible idea.
Want to know what a horrible idea really is?
Here is one, a really horrible, shortsighted idea:
Implement a system - let's call it "armory" - that encourages players to level multiple classes on a single character. Then, if any of them should take the time to max it out, give them something cosmetic (like a title and crown) and then totally c*ckblock their gear progression and pigeonhole them into one class, epsecially when compared to players who simply, flat out ignored the system. They get rewarded in the end.
Great idea, huh!?!
The players, by keeping everything on one character, they think they are saving a day or two of fate grinding to 26 or 34 for a cross class skill, but in reality it's a lie. A ruse, a trap, a cruel hoax. The player could have taken an extra week to level a fresh alt and be getting gear two to three times faster for the foreseeable future (plus another 300k gil from questing per alt). An extra week of leveling translates to [probably] months and months of an extra raid lockout per week, potentially twice as many myth tomes per week, a second piece of CT gear per week, etc. Twice as much every week adds up. And all they have to do to reap the benefits is totally ignore the entire system and roll an alt instead, you know? Simply play the game just like they play every other MMO ever made ever.
Player A: One Character: All classes level 50 = Up to 300 tomes per week (450 after patch as if that is somehow relevant)
Player B: Two Character: Both level 50 with only level 15 sub = Up to 600 tomes per week (900 after patch)
So then, what's the point of the armory system, again? With an alt you get another raid lockout, you get twice as many tomes. What's the benefit of the armory besides saving an evening of grinding in Quarrymill?
