I feel that this particular dead horse hasn't quite got the beating it deserves.

The myth cap was poorly thought out

It was well thought out - Sorry you can't get some of the best gear the second you hit 50.

The ideal/correct solution would be to drop the cap entirely.

They said they will not drop it nor is it the correct solution just because you want some of the best gear the second you hit 50. They're raising the cap to 450/week, that's an accessory a week or a piece every 2 weeks. ARR is easy mode, yes, but they do need to keep people around with a lack of content.

So if I don't play for 7 weeks, I should be able to grind out 2000 myth if I choose to do so. At least then I'm not being punished for going on vacation.

MMOs normally don't and shouldn't reward people for not playing lol.

An MMO without a dangling carrot is a dead MMO.

Agreed, however, the dangling carrot should be progression achieved through skill (or in same cases luck) - as it stands that's Titan HM for a lot of folks. An artifical cap that no amount of skill or effort will get you around is not the way to go about it.

Once cap is 400, that is a great number to cap it at for the next year imo.
