    The overly repeated battle theme in 2.0 is really bad, IMO, and even if you like it, you've got to be tired of it, considering its used in every damn zone, just with a different instrumental composition. I wish there was more variety with battle music, considering the main form of gameplay where players are expected to spend most of their time is battling.

    I'm glad hes not. XI's music was very good, but the combat/boss themes were pretty generic and a letdown for me. However the boss themes for ARR are outstanding in comparison. Also, XI followed a similar 'light' theme for most of it's music, which made the experience feel very samey to me. A few pieces stand out, like Fury or Awakening, but the rest sounded very similar in so many ways for me. I'm happy with 2.0's direction on music save normal battle music. 1.0's were definitely better.

    ..Huh. ARR's music is overly generic and XIV 1.0's wasn't since the battle themes/boss theme and leve theme were built around the zone's theme. I don't know though, music is personal tastes but:

    These doesn't strike me as 'generic' compared to ARR's same battle theme everywhere with different instrumentation and some battle/boss music that isn't that in ARR was Uematsu's work in 1.0.

    I'm happy with 2.0's direction on music save normal battle music
    Based on saying XI's music felt 'samey', this struck me as ironic lol.

    I really like the trash combat music from coil and how it seamlessly transitions from peaceful to combat. Wish they would do this more often with combat music.

    -All three city themes both day and night are way better than the originals.

    -While I would have preferred a main theme that plays continuously in most parts of a zone (other than the villages/hubs), I feel all the short themes in the field areas are well done, if sometimes a little too short.

    -Love the battle music, though I wish each region's theme was a little more distinct compared with the current slight variations on a single theme.

    -Love the levequest themes (The verison 1.0 fieldcraft theme was kept in ARR which is quite nice actually), though again I wish it varied by region like in 1.0.

    -Love the dungeon themes, I only wish they were designed to play throughout the dungeon rather than only at the beginning. This area is an exception in the variation department, where every dungeon in 1.0 had the same music, in ARR each dungeon has its own theme.

    -The themes for the primals are great, especially Titan.

    In summary, I only wish there was more! IMO what we have now is great, there just needs to be more of it.

    I hate it when people call it "generic" as if it's stock music or something when it's not. 1.0's music was no more or less generic.

    I've always felt the music in this game was very disappointing since I played phase 4, but majority seemed to like it. If 1.0 got one thing right, it was the music. I don't know who the hell is the main composer here, but it feels generic AF and totally uninspired.

    Aside from tracks in 1.0 being superior imo, it actually sounded like it belongs in a FF game, unlike most of what is in ARR. Just a shame Nubuo's talent went to waste. *Sigh*
