Aside from tracks in 1.0 being superior imo, it actually sounded like it belongs in a FF game, unlike most of what is in ARR. Just a shame Nubuo's talent went to waste. *Sigh*
Funny thing? I bet people like the CT music more than the other ARR music, only so few ARR tracks that isn't generic is good. Soken is a good composer, but his music for Garuda/Titan/Ramuh/FF2 Remix/CT (from what we heard) is the actual good ones. All they really had to do was make the soundtrack a remix/remaster of other FF themes (this is a fanservice title remember) and it woulda been great.

I mean, Ys Online did it - ARR could do it too.

I enjoyed 1.0's music but do not feel in any way that it is better than 2.0's soundtrack.

I'd like it if there was an option to disable battle music, since some of the dungeon themes are pretty cool and I'd prefer to have them play constantly.

When I think of ARR's music, the first thought that pops into my head is "Music? what music? there's music in this game?", followed by "Oh, you mean the battle theme?"

Seriously though, it was a terrible idea to only play the zone musics during certain times, and dungeon musics at the very beginning. More often than not you simply don't hear jack, and the vast majority of what people usually end up hearing is just the same battle music over and over and over and over and over again.

I wish you could pick a song you like and let that be your default battle song if you want. If you don't want battle music to be able to turn it off, while leaving the non-combat music on.

To be able to use Limsa's battle theme from 1.0 would be nice in 2.0. I like it the most.

These doesn't strike me as 'generic' compared to ARR's same battle theme everywhere with different instrumentation and some battle/boss music that isn't that in ARR was Uematsu's work in 1.0.

Based on saying XI's music felt 'samey', this struck me as ironic lol.
Just as you said, personal tastes.

The music in FFXIV ARR are good.

& I love FFV/FFVI music ,they had beautiful, lovely melodies.

Ultima Arma's brilliant (along with a few other boss themes), FFXIV:ARR does have its decent music.

Admittedly though the battle music outside of dungeons (and instances at that) is much too repetitive across zones. They're barely unique and hardly memorable (in a good sense), which isn't great.

Yes, considering one of these boss themes (Pennons Aloft/Boss 4) used to be the normal battle music in Coerthas. I wish they'll reuse Quicksand, The Forest's Pulse and Nail of the Heavens as boss themes later.

I like 1.0's music more devoid of context - but that context is important. ARR's music suits the world better I think, but just listening to the soundtracks themselves I like 1.0's more. It must be the guitars.
