Haha I didn't know, I thought Naoshi Mizuta was a feminine fore and surname, haha.

i allways liked the way FFXI handled battle tracks.
2 tracks for overworld (solo/party) and 2 tracks for dungeons (solo/party) with many different versions for different areas from expansions and different bosses there is quite a healthy number of battle tracks that don't sound similar.
i'm not a big fan of allways having the same overworld tracks with a slightly different feel to it play all the time, the same goes for the dungeons.after the awesome dungeon intro music it's allways the same boring track.
another option i'd like to see would be to turn off the battle track and just listen to the regular track, like with the mount tune option.
i did like the 1.0 tracks, but some of them felt too extreme for the actual encounter, some of them sounded like they should have been used for big boss monsters instead of regular ones XD
I wish i could disable the battle music D:
Really wish they didn't mess with Uematsu's 1.0 music.

If XIV follows XI at all in terms of music we'll see new battle music added with updates and expansions. FFXI only had four (I think, might have been six) battle themes at launch (ignoring special boss themes) and then had new ones added with each expansion. We'll have a lot more variety as the game grows.
There also seem to be a lot of 1.0 tracks returning in 2.1 judging by the samples they aired on the test for the last live letter. Not to mention the FF3 tracks remixed for Crystal Tower.

This blows all the current battle themes out of the water.
no, it really doesn't.

There should be a lot of variation in the battle music. I currently have all bgm muted.
