PLD shouldn't die at beetles if they use 10 sec immunity . But Im amazed at how few BLM will use sleep on mobs before first boss , especially if the tank stops short of the line.

this is how i usually break down a df run:
    1. check the jobs/gear of the classes i have queued up with. if i get an ideal set (blm/bard/whm, everyone has relic) i ask if they want a speedrun.
    2. if this is not the case, the first section is split into 3 groups. the first is to the stairs, the second is the big room and small hall, and the third is to the door. kill tonberry, run through door, kill everyone else (or pull boss if there is a bard/i'm feeling bold.)
    2. second section i go slow, 2 pulls for the first hallway, 3 for the main room. kill everything.
    3. last is split into two as well. first is the bogys/tonberries, then its to the door.

i have whm leveled to 40 and bard with relic (coil-ready, though not my main). i would like to say that i know WP very well...i also rotate coolowns while doing this, its pretty rare for me to die.

    2. if this is not the case, CLICK DF CLICK LEAVE
    3. Wait 15 minutes repeat.

Also the best way to get a reputation of being an asshole.
But since it's multi server and there's not consequence, I guess some people just don't care. So do you finally suck it up after your 3rd try in DF with out the "perfect" group?

I run WP according the skill and equipment of my party. Faster for those that can handle it and slower for those that are learning it. But then again I like running dungeons and can't stand the "elitist" mentality some people in this game has.

This happened to me today too, tank pulled so many mobs at one point that I could only heal him by spamming cure II and cure III overcure which of course drains mana quite fast. When I popped shroud so I don't run out of mana the tank died.

I mentioned that it is a bit hard to heal him when he does that, but I can manage to do that until my mp runs out, cause he was taking so much damage that even casting cure 1 for freecures was a risky business, even with divine seal on. I was planning on saying that we can do it this way you must just wait for my mana to regenerate between pulls, but I didn't have the time as I already got comments like "learn to play your class" and such and then he left.

I can't just wrap my mind around the mindsets of people like those.

maybe u could make an effort to learn how to speed run in case u meet more of such tanks? instead of whining here? the saying goes "if u can't win them... join them..."
Or the tank could actually look at people's gear and think about if they'll actually be able to pull of a speed run. Let me guess you were one of the tanks?

I'm sorta new and I run with a static group of players. One of our dps is a bit behind us, so we just spent some time in WP with an open pug slot.
Going in,we had never done the run. Geared up in AF and GC gear. !st time we had a nice MNK and we cleared it first try ,no death ..all smiles..
Next run our healer logged ,so myself and the pld Q..LOL..We get a healer/DPS combo that did not like our time and harassed us,pulled more mobs on us and everything turning a normal clear time of 30 mins into over an hour of dying. We had groups like that pretty much every time we Q without our healer so we stopped. After doing several runs with our healer, we got pretty much full DL and can clear this in no time. However ,when we get a new player we make sure to let them view CS,tell them pulls and bosses and make them feel comfy in the dungeon. Those guys in full DL being jerks and pushing you are doing exactly the same thing to you that was done to them like 3 days ago..

I cannot stand players forcing speed runs in DF. I do the same grind as everyone else and it is getting very old, but I don't feel like I have to do it all in one day. I use the whole week to do my 10 runs. The 10 extra minutes also makes sure we make it without wipes. I say no SR to let the party know at the start, usually people are fine with it sometimes not. I've read the previous posts and they have some validity to them as well, DF will never be a perfect situation. Unfortunately it comes down to this, if you queue with a SR tank you will SR or quit. If you queue with a tank like me, you will go room by room or quit.

Or, if you're tanking you just adjust the speed of the run to match the group you get in DF.

I don't believe that DF is appropriate for speed runs because nobody was consulted on whether or not they wanted to do one before the run began. If you want to do speed runs make your own group, don't join a group via DF and expect everyone to do what you want to do.

I largely avoid DF now because the dps drive me nuts running ahead and pulling, and AoE nuking before I can even do anything. Sadly this is becoming the norm rather than the exception.
