Until you get to the point right before Zirekile Falls and change him to a white mage with no abilities and no gear and lol all the way to the bank.

I understand everything youre saying in your post regarding the historical tankiness of Dark Knight. And I would be absolutely fine with them being made tanks if not for the fact that Warrior already is one, and already embodies a lotta what would have made Dark Knight an interesting tank. (And the design already proved lacking).

I want them to be a DPS class because I just love heavy armored, huge 2 handed weapon wielding DPS. Hell, even if the heavy armor is just aesthetic and doesnt actually offer a ton of defense.

Before I understood that Warrior was a tank, I intended to play it exclusively. I thought it was going to be a DPS like in FFXI. I was wrong. Dragoon and monk just dont do it for me, I would just love to be a DPS with a 2 handed sword or axe.

This can maybe "apply" to the net and maybe you think its acceptable (I don't), but now use this same logic outside just to see, go to some random ppl and tell them that their opinion is rubbish. I work in the hotel industry. I get many people who want to leave, some rude, some pleasant. Did it matter how they expressed how they wanted to leave? Not in the slightest.

You can't even remain calm discussing a view point. Your entire quoted post is nothing but aggressive assertions and demeaning one's education level. By your own reasoning, you would be up for a "big smack in the face". Whether your or others believe Kitru is rude is open to your own interpretation of the contex. Your own context quoted above interprets yourself becoming quite hostile over a trivial thing.

I took his quote as Gandora presenting a hypothetical scenario in which you tell someone their ideas are rubbish, which in American English, would be saying garbage. Also depending on whom you are talking to, you may end up with a "big smack in the face", because someone somewhere will be 'frank' with the back of their hand.

You type about smaking people in the face for having a big mouth. That is aggressive writing even if you reamined "calm and cool" when composing it. A basic writing course should have taught you that. Those words would have a much higher chance for a violent outcome "in the streets" than calling someone's idea "rubbish." Your structure attacks the person, not the point being made by the person. At any rate, I've used enough of my daily posting limit on this discussion.

PS I write this not to be mean, but as an example of what you are accusing Gandora of, when in fact, he only stated that many people are internet tough guys, but if you were to speak to them face to face, they would never speak in the fashion they do under complete anonymity. RUN ON SENTENCE FTMFW

What is everyones fascination with having samurai become a tank!? It has never been anything of the sort in any iteration of Final Fantasy, it must be DPS. SE can easily design new classes/jobs that have never appeared before, but if they are going to use names of jobs from previous games then those jobs should fill the same role.

Well, the issue here is that there is nearly a complete and total lack of "roles" up until FFXI. Personally, I dont see a problem with Samurai becoming a tank. The issue is balancing it without it becoming a clone of Warrior or Paladin. Heck, as earlier stated I wouldnt mind seeing Dark Knight as a tank, except that doing so would almost certainly result in a clone of Warrior. Also it would deprive everyone of the heavy weapon DPS option. If they wanted Dark Knight as a tank, why not release it in stead of Warrior, and make Warrior the DPS? The lore is already screwed. Or it would be if Final Fantasy had a standing lore outside of Crystals.

Can Dark Knight and Samurai fill the role of a tank? Sure. Can they fill the role of a DPS? Sure. But so could Red Mage, Beast Master, Blue Mage, Viking, Berserker, Mystic Knight/Rune Fencer, and even Dancer and Ninja if you think you can get away with evasion tanking in 14's model... which I honeslty dont.

Would some of those jobs need some tooling to be made in to tanks? Sure. And Im sure all of you can easily see all of them as DPS, with the possible exception of Dancer.

My personal favorite for the next tank is Red Mage. It lends itself most easily to a unique playstyle from Warrior and Paladin, and the lore behind it is pretty easy to imagine. Rune Fencer would be a close second but Red Mage is much more iconic in the FF franchise. Dark Knight doesnt NEED to be a tank. And while Samurai doesnt either, I feel it would be more readily accepted as one than Dark Knight, especially in the presence of Warrior.

There's more to account than taxes. Also, my reading comprehension is just fine. Gandora wants to interpret Kitru as rude. That is his opinion. I read Kitru's posts as being rather blunt, but not rude (aside from some back and from between Kitru and Gamemako). Neither Gandora or myself are going to come to a consensus over our own opinionated interpretations.

I agree there are many internet "tough guys". However, Kitru is not one. He/she is can be blunt. I can see where some may take issue with his/her writing style but rarely does Kitru go after the poster like most internet "tough guys".



I'm one of the few that would like to see samurai tanks branching off the Lancer class. They could use yari and naginata style spears. Katanas were not the only weapons samurai used, even in FF games.

So you would give a pseudo tank a DDs subclass just for the sake of one evasion boost job ability? Ignoring the 3 others job ability that are more or less DDs oriented? logic.

Oh I know, but you are taking Gandora's words and twisting them to your benefit. I have seen some comments by Kitru as being a line next to rude, if not just stepping over the line. Even if Kitru is being frank, s/he can still be rude. Being rude and frank are two separate things.

I am ok with Kitru, only because Kitru has walls of text. Sometimes there is stuff I agree with, sometimes not. But it's better than reading most forum posts on here.

If we wanted to get super technical, thf and ninja should come from botanist. lol. I wouldn't mind it either, but it would be weird since katanas are the soul of the samurai.
