Of course it's content otherwise they wouldn't have wasted time to design armors in order to be used with Vanity.
Kitty bittin it's tail much ?
You do know you take off your gear and put on another set right? I see players (myself included) swap out a lower set of gear when running lower level dungeons.Of course I'm thinking about the content. The gear is relevant to that--because if the new dungeons have a recommended gearing level of AF and the Crystal Tower has a recommended gear level of 55... these dungeons cannot possibly be difficult and anyone who is wearing Relic+1/AF2/Allagan or even Primal+Darklight is going to blast through them without a shred of a challenge.
The content is completely, totally, absolutely wholly irrelevant if it's not challenging.
You know , what would keep it simple would be just have a chance to get a random chance if lucky in 100-400 runs get a items level 90 or 95 peace on the boss same stats as coil with a different look on that rare piece from coil. If they did gear right would not need vanity gear. It like they have no clue how to balance the zones for players to play in or for those to get vanity style of gear. Make random for causal and tokens gear for hardcore with higher sets for the hardcore from the random causal.

What does this have to do with being Legacy???
There are plenty non-legacy FCs doing coils you know

SWTOR had 1.7 million subs (that's less than FF boasted last month) immediately after launch in early 2012. They lost 400,000 subs in the following 2 1/2 months. By the month before Christmas they were hovering at 500,000 when the game went F2P. You'd be amazed how quickly these things can unravel. There are myriad options for casual players to choose from, most of them completely free, and to avoid becoming a simple temple of the franchise-faithful this game needs to offer things those other games do not. Things like good, balanced PvP, and challenging, mid-to-large-scale raids. Right now the only thing that makes FF unique is that it's really pretty and has amazing music. That's not enough, in itself, to maintain high retention.

Well said, and spot on.Wait, what?
Sorry but the tone of the community does not fit with the complaints you are making.
There have been numerous, nauseating amounts even, of threads complaining about there not being enough to do at endgame.
And just because the new content is not at the absolute apex of endgame it's suddenly irrelevant?
Ok, let's conveniently forget for a moment that we were told, since the beginning, that Crystal Tower came BEFORE Coil of Bahamut in terms of progression. And that the reason why it was pulled from the beginning was a major difficulty overhaul because it wasn't supposed to be on par with Coil - which is a manual raid content, where CT was supposed to still be Duty Finder content.
Let's also forget that the vast majority of the populace is not, in fact, super-hardcore and have reach Coil, or even if they have completed the game are in a gear position to coil.
Not to mention the numerous complaints about Mythology caps and the inability to gear other classes progressively...
I'm still left with the glaring question of why any battle content released after launch must absolutely be directed solely at the highest echelon of endgame content is suddenly obsolete and not worth creating or visiting.
Progression-obsession, really is a thing these days... and it's kinda disturbing.
I was just thinking as I read this, "The majority of the player base hasn't cleared coil." and you said it for me.
Then I got to thinking about the sheer amount of time it will take me to fully gear all my 50s (All of them) and how nice it'll be to have an option that, while not the highest, will make all my 50s capable of running most content. Again you said it for me.
I also thought, hmm how nice will it be to run something that isn't WP or AK for tomes. I know I know the most efficient way to go is WP, but seriously how many folk complain there's nothing to do after they cap myth in 2.5 hours on Monday? Take the slower path to cap and "experience" something other than a WP speed run, I personally am looking forward to this just for the change of scenery.
I also got to thinking about How nice it'll be to have a new story even if it only takes a day or 3 to run through, at least it'll be fresh. I haven't really had anything new story-wise, except the Lightning event, since 2 weeks after release, curse being a legacy lol.

It's not the devs fault that you don't play more than one job. There are so many threads about how it's impossible to gear more than one job and now we can easily. No lockout content that will be expanded every patch (ie: higher ilvl gear drops eventually) is not something you should write off. I'm stoked to be able to gear up my non-main jobs and have a shot at playing them in more difficult content than AK.

I'm not angry that I can gear my 2 alternate DoW a little quicker. It's not the devs fault that you don't play more than one job. I'm FURIOUS that my 5 DoH are hampered in doing so, to the point that I have to run twice as hard and beat the odds multiple times for not as good gear.

The problem with playing two jobs is completely about the coil lockout. There is little reason to play a second job when its locked out from the content most of the people complaining are doing on their main job. Having i70 for secondary jobs is enough, as those jobs won't be doing coil due to lockouts. So adding in i80 for alternate jobs is largely irrelevant because there is still little use for those jobs, as the coil lockout still exists. It's not the devs fault that you don't play more than one job. Changing the lockout on coil to be job based instead of character based would erase almost all of the 'secondary job' complaints that exist. As it stands now, the only solution is to pay $2 more per month to upgrade to an 8 character account and roll alts. This is the first game I've played that the player base has actually said that rolling alts is the reason no one should complain about lack of content, I've never seen that posted on other game's forums...
