The DoT ticks show. Every 3 seconds
I would prefer the numbers were broken down so I can see what each of them were doing. One lump number ever three seconds isn't that satisfying. For all intents and purposes, the damage from all those spells I just cast, are hidden as I can only see one number. That one lump number....tells me something hit for said amount..not what and at what point does it account for as each dot takes time to cast while bio and aero are instant (minus gcd) so am I losing damage or is it account for them all simultaneously? See what I mean by hiidden? I don't know what I am looking at as it doesnt' tell me. And considering bane only spreads three main spells to others maybe they should up the potency and remove some of the extra dot spells or increase the number it spreads to.

Go to a training dummy and cast 1 DOT at a time. Watch the individual numbers, then multi-DOT and see if the numbers still add up to be the same. I know it's alot of work, but if it's going to get you the results you want, then have at it!I would prefer the numbers were broken down so I can see what each of them were doing. That's a good idea if I wanted to see how much damage I'm doing at that one time. What. About other times? . What I want is for it to not always be hidden.
Dummies is fine. Am I expected to repeat to myself "it's ok that ruin hits for 220 I'm doing THIS amount too, the dummy said so" in ever boss fight? For a class that has VERY low pot spells hiding the numbers does give you the impression that you aren't doing much damage. Impression is everything.

The server handles all DoT damage checks every 3 seconds, so as long as that DoT is up when it checks it will do damage. If you want a baseline idea of what each DoT is actually ticking for, just drop one at a time. Or take into consideration the potencies of the DoTs you have up. If you hit for ~300 a tick with Bio, Bio2, Miasma and Thunder on you can assume Bio is ticking for about 80 and the others for about 70. Shadow flare would probably be about 50 per tick and Miasma2 maybe 25? Considering the main 4 doing 300 a pop at least.
Seeing every number individually would be a whole lot of hard to track small red numbers
At least we would see it and they can break it down not only. On the screen but log as well. After we dot things up the only noticable thing we see is ruin damage float down the screen. The server handles all DoT damage checks every 3 seconds, so as long as that DoT is up when it checks it will do damage.
