    Some random SMN questions

Is there a way to put my pet right under my name in the party list, just so I can keep an eye on his health a little better?

Why does my pet insist on dying to ancient flare on last boss in CT? Even pressing heel alone, he turns around and goes back in. I have seen this happen to a lot of ppl. I ended up pressing heel, then stay to keep him with me, is there a more simple way? I guess should I just place it?

I have been using obey lately instead of sic for more control of contagion basically. Is there a way to make my pet default to obey? Currently, I seem to have to target the enemy, let the tank pull, then press obey. Kinda annoying, not a big deal, but would much rather not have to do that every fight.

Im sure I have more questions, but this is all that comes to mind right now.

During CT's last boss to keep the Egi alive for flares, "Place" it on the platform then "Steady." There's no default to Obey but just start fights in "Steady" and use Obey to pinpoint specific targets, like for example, Plumes in Garuda so Garuda does some damage while I prep her AoE (Not Enkindle)

Once you get the hang of it it becomes second nature

About moving your pet's hp bar in the party list, I don't believe you can. However, you can focus target it and move that around if you wish. Just select your pet and press shift-f.

I place my pet on Steady after each mob and place him on Obey when attacking. When Archeron starts to cast Ancient Flare, put him on Steady again and he'll follow you to the platform with no need to further command. When IG spawns, put it back in Obey. No more egi deaths. Only commands I really bother with are Obey, Steady, and Heel and I hardly ever see Garuda die.

You can't move the pet under your name, but you can move your name above the pet. (bottom of the party list) On the party screen, use the arrows in the lower left to achieve this.

You don't need to place it. Just put your pet on Steady when you retreat to the platform for Ancient Flare, and the pet will follow. Then once the flare is done, put it back on Guard and she'll move into position to hit the boss again.

But basically what is happening, is you have the pet on Guard, targeting the boss. You run to the platform, hit Heel, the pet goes back to the platform, but since it is in Guard mode still, it resumes attacking the existing target, which it has to run into Ancient Flare to accomplish.

Once you put the pet on Obey, it stays that way until it dies. (or you change it back to Sic) So, if you start a fight, put it in Obey for the first time, finish the fight and start another fight.. the pet will still be in Obey. The only reason you would need to manually Obey at that point would be to tell it to start attacking before it automatically starts attacking (because of Guard) when you first attack a target.

    I have 2 I use

    /ac "Rouse" <me>
    /ac "Spur" <me>
    /ac "Raging Strikes" <me>

    and

/ac "Eye for an eye" <tt>

    You can also consider:
    /ac "Swiftcast" <me>
/ac "Resurrection" <t> (or Shadow flare with whatever the < > is supposed to be)

FORGOT ABOUT THIS. But if you want to keep a better eye on your pet's health, you can do Shift + F on the Egi to focus target it
