    We actually run coil with a WAR as the other tank ( I'm the PLD obviously lol ). He does amazing , he actually knows how to use it properly ( this also falls on the healers , most don't know how to accommodate a WAR because they just spam cures ). These "fixes" just seem to really beef a job that IMO could use some tweaking but at the same time didn't need such drastic changes. This is like throwing a jet engine onto a monster truck IMO. I just fear that it will be far greater than a PLD now and i'll have to Relic+1 it and get the AF+1 for it.

    The fact that some wars can do coil doesn't prova that war is on par with pld.
    Those changes are good and won't make war superior to pld. Just more equal.

    I don't regret the fact I've spent my myth for both pld and war relic+1. I have fun with both of them and they're my favourite classes in the game.

    So what you are saying is that you only play the "BEST" Tank, not the great and over powered one that is currently able to dominate all content...
    You don't Play the game, you play the Flavor of the Month!

    Lol I suppose you could say that with 0 knowledge of my thought process . I play both actually I've just always liked PLD more , i'm a sword and shield kind of guy. But of course I will play whichever job is better of the 2 because i'm an optimizer and it isn't all about what I want , you have to consider what your guild mates prefer as well.

    You're neglecting the fact that that 20% Healing needs to be applied to a 25% bigger Health pool.

    +20% damage resistance:
    Starts at 5000 HP.
    Receives a 2000 damage hit, takes 1600 damage.
    = 3400 HP (68% of max)
    Receives a 1000 HP heal. Gains 1000 HP.
    = 4400 HP (88% of max)


    +25% HP and +20% healing:
    Starts at 6250 HP.
    Receives a 2000 damage hit, takes 2000 damage.
    4250 HP (68% of max)
    Receives a 1000 HP heal. Gains 1200 HP.
    = 5450 HP (87.2% of max)

    PLD actually still have a slight edge because the +Healing is only 20%, not 25%
    But realistically the performance is now so close as to be effectively equal in normal gameplay.

    Compared to 2.0 it is additional. (20% is more than 15%)
    Granted.

    (My point was they were stripping the +Healing from additional Wrath Stacks and adding it to Baseline Defiance!)

    I personally prefer PLD as well, cause I'm a more "steoreotypical" kind of Tank as well, meaning Shield and 1-handed Sword. But I will tank on whatever class if I have to to support my group the most possible. Since the other PLD in my group is prolly not considering WAR at all, I prolly switch to WAR and start using Myth on him too as soon as I'm done with PLD(next Reset I get my last BiS Myth piece).
    This has nothing to do with Flavour of the Month, this is about efficiency in the group and support. I think that a PLD/WAR combo will far surpass PLD/PLD after 2.1, so I won't mind switching to WAR at all. I did the same in 1.0. Whichever tank brings most benefit to the group is the one I'm gonna play.

    Then stop worrying because you are the kind of PLD that will keep rocking and MTing.
    Only PLD bandwagoners will experience the WAR buff as a PLD nerf.

    This is exactly what is needed.

    The discussion is basically over now, WAR is on Par with PLD with PLD still being slightly more reliable, and WAR being STILL a skill based tank. But with these changes, it is now more beneficial to bring WAR/PLD instead of PLDx2.

    Thank you Yoshi for these changes, they are what was needed.
