Being on the game more is already advantage enough. They don't need special advantages like being the only ones effectively allowed to play certain content.People who play more, should have an advantage in a game
It's funny to even call it a "system" in XI. They are just big monsters that don't spawn as often as others. That's what Behemoth and Odin are. They do have rewards, whether you tihnk they're good or not is irrelevant (Obviously there are people out there who want the rewards, otherwise nobody would rush over to participate).Lots of fun, very functional, great drops, etc. Great example of FFXIV's HNM system.
You did not enjoy *camping* the NM. you enjoyed fighting it and/or getting the drop, and possibly the thrill of being the one who got it over someone else- All of these things i can expect, understand and respect. The camping itself? You're lying if you thought that was fun. You cannot tell me with a straight face the mere standing in one spot and waiting part is fun. That I can not understand, expect or respect. But having a 2 hours NM, maybe a 6 hour HNM; Is that really so mind-blowingly bad to you? Is someone forcing you to camp it with us? While I completely understand that some of you don't like to even fathom camping an NM, some of us enjoyed it.
Notorious monsters are an "absolute staple" of this game too- the only difference is the rewards. You want more rewarding NMs? I'm all for that, by all means.
I'd also be totally happy having pop NMs, and I'd also like to have back something like the faction leves (more or less pop NMs, but the leves with special conditions control the rate it can be played and also provide a mechanic for a small group to play it and a mechanic to prevent 1000 people from jumping in)
It is obvious that multi-day + mini spawn window HNMs were not the most popular content in XI, or they would have kept making more. But they've since stopped and more or less adopted XIV's system of only having the big scary monsters within other content. Wildskeeper rieves are essentially HNM FATEs with an entry fee. (They do have better rewards though- rewards is the real problem with the NMs we currently have)
HNMs don't appear on the map like the other FATES- they only show up on the minimap and only if you're close by, so you basically either have to happen upon it or hear from somebody who heard someone who happened upon it.As it stands now, FATES are just.... so simple. OH GUYS!!!!! BLUE CIRCLE IN THE NORTH! MOVE!!
In my opinion you have a pretty silly system when the challenge is not in fighting the NM, but rather being the first one to press a button when it appears.I loved the competition around claiming NMs in 1.0. I'd love to see them brought back. My LS owns when it comes to spawn camping.
