In regards to quitters

I've had people drop random groups a lot recently... I haven't tried to DF the primal fights yet but as far as the 4 mans people have no patience once so ever so I can only imagine the larger groups.

I'm in the process of walking my friend through how to tank runs and explain things to him and I state this at the start of the runs that he's new to mmo's and tanking. Really he's not bad at his class given he's almost 50 now and had people helping him along the way ^^

But the first mess up and the healer leaves or the first loss of agro or some little slip up.. so silly D; I would happily not put him or myself through the stress of DF but the lack of healers or people willing to do the lower end content if people need it in the FC I'm in rather gives me little to no choice.

I saw this for the first time yesterday. The tank left at the third pull of AK. Didn't say a word, just bounced. How is anyone supposed to fix what they did wrong if people just leave without at least attempting to address it?

To be fair, you don't know the exact reasoning the tank left unexpected yesterday. For instance, I was doing Titan runs yesterday with my FC and had to leave unexpectedly as tornadoes ravaged my area of central Illinois. Maybe your tank left because he/she was a d-bag. Maybe there was a legit issue, like mine.

There's not fix SE can do either way. Closest "fix" is to make the dungeon in progress a default. Heavier penalties for leaving won't do anything positive but cause more people to just AFK (until a vote kick is in place....even then, vote kicks have their own issues). The only real fix is making groups with your friends and/or FC/LS people you know.

No, I don't. But that's exactly my complaint. A quick "/p emergency guys, gotta go" would have been good enough though. He had time enough to open the df menu and select leave, so I don't think a quick notice to the party was too much to ask.

Though I agree with you (hell, I stated it over TS as the emergency sirens were going off), it's DF. Courtesy, friendless, etc....are often lacking. SE will not have a way to solve the DF mannerisms. I doubt the upcoming prestige/voting system remedies the general asshatclown-douchebagginitis.

We had one wipe in HM Garuda last night due to a new tank learning placement. A DPS leaves. You can not refill those spots and otherwise it was a great party. That needs to be changed.

I also wish the primal trials could be replenished.

I've had to do that before too. I have 4 kids, all boys, they hurt themselves often... when one comes out with a bloody nose, I let the party know and that it takes priority, apologize, then leave. Communication is key, even if you are on a PS3 and no keyboard, you can still communicate. If you dont say you are new, how do we know to teach you the fights (had a fun 3 runs with PUG ifrit where the same PLD tank kept comin in and not stunning once...)

Agreed. In a perfect gaming world, we would gather the players willing to work together into 1 FC & enjoy the game. Alas, a perfect gaming world does not exist & sadly never will.

I've seen ppl struggling in certain dungeons to the point when joining they are like "Please don't leave or quit. We know where we mess up." I'm like kewl np. I get it. How are ppl suppose to get better or try to learn, if we don't give them the opportunity to do so? I mean you can watch a vid over & over, have friends explain it, but honestly until you step in there firsthand & try it yourself, it's a whole different story.

DF can work... sometimes be great! For the most part look for a guild that really works together & irons out those 'bumps.' They are out there. If we could all just keep in mind not everyone is a phenomenal player bc everyone is different. We can still have a great gaming experience & feel good about helping each other along the way!

What dungeon/s are we talking about here? I make it my job to randomly que for dungeons when I am bored to help out those less fortunate with groups who don't ragequit after a simple mistake or because others are new.
