    What makes grouping so special that groups should get what soloists shouldn't? If I put in the same amount of effort (or more) as a soloist as you do in a group, shouldn't I be entitled to the same rewards? Is your time or effort more valuable just because you had other people to help you?

    This isn't to say that soloist should be handed anything, quite the opposite, I like to be challenged, and if done right, scalable quests and instances can provide an equal challenge to a party or a soloist with equal rewards. It doesn't have to be a game designed for one or the other, we can coexist.
    You are outright questioning why all content shouldn't be soloable; why it shouldn't scale so that a solo player can do everything and it's not "group only".

    You do argue that it should balance nicely between grouping and solo and not be "one extreme or the other". However, that reads more like an attempt to soften your real issue, which is clearly voiced from the soloers point-of-view, and is slanted quite clearly in favor of soloing.

    To put it another way, let me ask you this question, and please answer it honestly.

    Would you be so moved as to create a thread like this one, making the statements you have, if FFXIV was made entirely soloable? Would you care at all if the game had no group-focused content at all? Would you still feel so compelled to voice your 'concerns'? Or would you be relieved that "finally" there's a game that fully supports your playstyle?

    I'm gonna take what I think is a safe bet here and say it wouldn't trouble you in the least.

    To sum it up, since I seem to have to every few posts: I do not think that everything should be soloable, nor do I think that FFXIV should change one bit to cater more to soloers.
    Now you're contradicting yourself.

    First you ask why all content shouldn't scale so that it can be done solo. Now you're claiming that not all content should be soloable nor that FFXIV should cater more to soloers.

    Right... So what, then, is your actual complaint?

    Kinda hard to defend your position when you can't even argue it consistently. Why don't you take a moment and figure out what your position actually is, and then come back and try again when you've figured it out.

    It's not a common mistake you want an alive world I understand that but what is the point of having other humans behind these characters if you do not interact with them. That is what I meant by the illusion of a dead community many solo players but, NOT all. Do not communicate with the rest of the community that does not help an MMO grow it helps it die. Like I said I hope they start making MSO games for players like you where you can see everyone running around doing what they want but not much party play. Never understood having an alive world to only look at it, not interact and be a part of it.

    So far this game has solo content only (if you count leves as content then maybe a little group content).

    I don't count pure grinding mobs as content, if so , then thats the only group content we have.
    Missions are SOLO only, Class quests are SOLO only, crafting ofc is SOLO only, and quests are also for soloers.
    The game has nothing to offer for groups.

    For a solo rpg ffxiv so far lacks everything ... thank god there are still nice solo rpgs out now that i didnt play yet...
    I DO hope ffxiv gets an mmorpg and doesnt stay an online solo-rpg with group leveling... *sigh*
    (dungeons wont cut it... has to me so much more)

    This game needs a lot of GOOD solo content, and a lot of GOOD group content

    fable game sorta do this well 2 and 3. With gold and an online connection and setting you can see player orbs in the game and if you want to join in their game. (with out player consent but do give you a kick option.)

    That is why you shouldn't be the "voice of the people" not all soloers community talk with ppl they play bythemselves.

    Even the worst rpg is more alive then ffxiv is... unless it gets major design changes so not everyone is at one place only and the environment gets more interesting, i don't see how people play THIS game because the world is alive...

    its a polished graveyard with rmts all over and some whiteknights pretending so hard having fun (ok that was trollish but i couldnt resist)

    jeez fable is a popular game to talk about on here XD was in the ach opting out thread and ppl talked about fable 2s achiv system

    back on topic. TDJ if someone qoutes this, I would recommend rewiting your OP and focus on yourself, and how you feel. And not sooist ingeneral. As alot of people stated not all soloers are infact act like part of the server communities. And also suggest stop being defensive when group play gets mention and the possiblity that if you play a final fantasy mmo, group content maybe the focus.

    i just hope they make a world that IS alive already so you get excited and want to interact with it no matter if solo or in a group. But i think its really hard to implement both good solo and group content since that means to add different storylines or at least different views on certain events.

    The same as with crafting or DOL classes... The parleay option is a weak feature, they shoudl never do the same quests,
    they shoudl have different views on whatever is happening. Getting special resources for battles, or an alchemist should smuggle poison into the enemies tents to weaken them or whatever... but if they wanna do all the directions at once, they have a lot of work to do and a lot can go wrong at the same time.

    If they manage to cater to all classes and solo and groups in a proper way then ... wow, (not the world of w. wow), ill be impressed really.
