If I buy a house and the developer builds it to MY specifications, move in and realize it sucks because I don't like it ... I can't call the developer up and say, 'rebuild my house because I don't like it.' The ONLY way this would fly is if I re-paid the developer to do it a second time.

Except that past "remake the battle system" we didn't give SE any specifications. If it fails as a battle system yet again, this would make it SE's third try to get it right for this game and they would be to blame. I'll be honest with everyone here and I'm sure other's are in the same position I'm in, if this battle system and content don't do it for me I'm taking a hike and probably never looking back.

Technically it's their first try at redoing the battle system. The Alpha system was thrown in last minute because there wasn't a battle system in the game and they said it was a placeholder to begin with.

It was a placeholder sure but it was a fully developed place holder, they built it from the ground up, found that it was boring and (long before alpha started) they readjusted it to what we have today. This would literally make it their third try at the end of the day, 3 tries at a battle system when they could have got it right at the conceptual phase and been working on something else.
