    That wouldn't work, you would have the Softcore crowd screaming that it's too intense, and you would have the Hardcore crowd screaming that it's not thrusting deep and hard enough.

    In other words, there isn't this massive group that wants 'normal mode' throughout the game. The majority tends to cover three types of players:
    1. Hard Mode Players - people who want the game to be 'balls-to-the-wall' hard from start to finish.
    2. Easy Mode Players - people who want everything handed to them on a silver platter from start to finish.
    3. Incremental Increase Players - people who want the game to be a step-ladder in difficulty. Basically starting off easy and slowly increasing difficulty throughout, up to 'balls-to-the-wall' Hardcore endgame.

    These are the main types of players I have run across in my experience.
