Hardcore, Non-Hardcore, Casual?
I vote that we just refer to things as Hardcore and Softcore.
That wouldn't work, you would have the Softcore crowd screaming that it's too intense, and you would have the Hardcore crowd screaming that it's not thrusting deep and hard enough.
In other words, there isn't this massive group that wants 'normal mode' throughout the game. The majority tends to cover three types of players:
- Hard Mode Players - people who want the game to be 'balls-to-the-wall' hard from start to finish.
- Easy Mode Players - people who want everything handed to them on a silver platter from start to finish.
- Incremental Increase Players - people who want the game to be a step-ladder in difficulty. Basically starting off easy and slowly increasing difficulty throughout, up to 'balls-to-the-wall' Hardcore endgame.
These are the main types of players I have run across in my experience.
We don't 'NEED' PvP.
What is 'hardcore' for one is not 'hardcore' for another.
No one even knows what 'HardCore' is (is it repeating the same thing a gazillion times, or content so challenging that to beat it once would take every ounce of skill (not gear) you have, and there is no 'need' to do it a second time).
The REAL discussion is not hardcore/casual/blah, the real discussion is:
Do you find enough stuff to do in game right or or in the near future to make your stay here a pleasant one.
Some might want: OOOH SUper douper gear if I repeat this dungeon only 1.5x10^30 time.. I'm hard core.
Some want a garden to play in.
Neither is right nor wrong. Each to their own, and hopefully enough made happy to keep this world alive.
Now, how about a hard-core-crystal-raising-garden?!
OP, are you trolling or are you actually this naive? Are you really saying newer games should release with more content because it's 2013 now? Like all of a sudden in 2013 developing games doesn't cost money? Like it doesn't take hundreds of man hours from story writers to texture artists to musicians to modelers to animators to make a game together in a seamless all encompassing world?
The game is two months old and you are complaining about lack of content. two months... Get real. WoW wasn't "polished" for years.
