People still throw the "skill" argument?I don't think it's difficult. Personally, I think most people getting hit by it are just not good enough. When a static group of players from around the world can consistently do it without issue, then it's apparent that any lag problems are on players' end.
Someone is always suffering from routing issues in online games, but it becomes more apparent when there are stricter game mechanics and less servers spread across a very small geographical area. That's why services like WoWTunnels/Pingzapper exist. Whether or not it's SE's responsibility to take it up with ISPs is debatable, but if anyone has been watching their news feed, they'd know that's exactly what SE is trying to do.
It's not about how hard or easy it is, but how it makes the gameplay less enjoyable.
If you don't notice it, I'm sorry to sound rude, then you aren't nearly as good as you think.

Yeah, it's funny people think not having this problem means they're good good. No, if you never noticed this problem this means your comprehension of the game is so bad that you cannot possibly be good. It's impossible to miss when this works in reverse, namely the ability to move before you finish casting a spell if you have any decent grasp of MMORPG mechanics.

Whenever my GCD is still up when I dodge an AoE, and I cannot cast a spell before the AoE goes off, I get hit. How many times have I died from a front AoE... behind the boss *sighs*
Whenever my GCD is down when I dodge an AoE, I immediately cast a spell, and I'm good. EVERY TIME.
I don't know much about IT networks and stuff, but can this really be caused by my ISP/computer?
Are you going to tell me it's because I suck? That I am too stupid or blind to tell the difference between when I'm out of the red zone before it disapears, and when I'm not?
As for the "camera's at fault": lol.
Note: I'm not talking about when I'm too slow and don't move out of the red zone before it disapears, those happen too, obviously, but are irrelevant to the topic.
Doesn't matter, even if your ping is 300+... if you dodge something on YOUR SCREEN the server should translate that into a DODGE.
WoW doesn't have this problem, Oceanic guilds are doing Heroic and Server-First raids with no server-to-client problems and don't even need to pay for services like PingZapper and Battleping.
FFXIV is badly coded. period.

idk if what they say is true.
however i will say i have beaten titan hundreds of times by now if not thousands. I tried it with my camera zoomed way in, and the difficulty is increased to where the fight is actually hard. When I zoomed my camera out it makes the Titan fight child's play so....... idk there must be something to the statement, or i just play weird *shurgs*.

But what if you can't zoom your camera out?

This videos shows three things.
1. BRD is against the wall, so zooming out while facing mob is impossible.
2. BRD is out of red AoE line, still gets hit.
3. BRD is out of AoE before the cast bar hits 100%, still gets hit.
Totally because of the camera :/
yeah I play with a husband and wife combo and quite often one lags and one is fine
Honestly the people saying they don't have an issue, I'm relatively sure it isn't because you magically are located in the right place, you're just used to the desync is all. It's easy to adapt to it on this game because most if not all the mobs stay on the same pattern. Titan is a perfect example of this. There is nothing RNG about that fight. You know exactly what will come next at all times (assuming you know the rotations). Put in some RNG elements in the mobs AI that say has its own CD and goes off when it wants to (assuming the CD is UP for that skill) and I imagine alot of you saying you don't have a problem would GET a problem then.

You get hit by the 0.3s twice, first because your screen receives a delayed rendition of the AE. If you have a running start on WotL you'll notice the circle is dropped behind you. This is because the server already decided where to put the AE and your client receives the information late, even though the circle is obviously supposed to be cast on your current position. If you remove the first delay of 0.3 (client late rendition of the state of the world), it's pretty trivial to avoid the ability. So, if you have these memorized it's easy to dodge. There's nothing you can do to avoid the ending 0.3s in terms of preparation, but shaving the first 0.3s off is generally enough.
This also means if the game isn't lagged like any other game, pretty much anyone can dodge these AEs trivially, as you are gaining an additional 0.3s to 0.6s to avoid the AE depending on whether you memorized the pattern or not.
