I feel that by not implementing it, they may be missing a significant number of users that would prefer this option. Keyboard only controls definitely felt more precise for me in the past and kept all of my controls centralized.

Nobody is not going to play just because there's no keyboard only option.

The only reason anybody wants it is because they're used to it from FFXI. When they get used to FFXIV's controls, they usually realize how much better they really are. I used keyboard only in FFXI because it was either that or gamepad- not because I didn't want to use the mouse.

Mouse and keyboard > keyboard only. Simple reason: Keyboard has no analog input, therefore no precise control over camera and movement. The only reason we used keyboard only in FFXI is because the mouse input was awful in that game, rendering the mouse unusable.

They most certainly are not losing customers over this.

Why when I'm running from mob to mob, do I care about being able to look at a water fall.
Why do I care how I turn.

The mouse was always there for things like that in FFXI.. But to 99% of thing other then look at the view. You didn't need the mouse.

Run up to mob, Lock on mob (Fix camera), Unlock mob (tap a key 2 times). Move left and right, in and out.
Key thing here is... one hand controlling Movement very very nicely in that I can press Left right and up and down, Camera control quick and easy on arrow keys with thumb.
2nd hand free for all actions.

It's supper hard to use Alt + key or Control + key when one hand is hovering over 1/2 the keyboard.


I don't know how many times I've missed moving out of AOE because I was looking at where my mouse was pointing well trying to move.

As for the comment on more sensitive control.
Please point out one point when this matter outside of looking at scenery.
Post beta 3 your POS is a single point at the center of your character, and there is never a time when your feet need to be positioned perfectly.

Every. Single. Ground. Effect. In. The. Game.

You try avoiding every Weight of the Land, Landslide, and Bomb Boulder in Titan Hard mode with using nothing but keyboard for movement and camera control. It's simply not possible.

I don't mean to sound contrary, but I do this all the time... 100% of the time with keyboard. Nary a mouse in sight, and with no difficulty at all (except for lag of course). On good lag days I don't even get hit o.o
