No, he very well may be affected by it. I'd like to play all night and sometimes get interrtuped by a maintenance. Personally, I understand (and i think this person understands) that they do things when they need to do things, and it's not a choice made to screw you over. Nobody at SE said "Hmm, how can we annoy people in X time zone today? I know, lets have an unscheduled maintenance!"
