Why don't you guys post on NA run MMO boards about rotation of maintenance too? Or are you just all so selfish that you want everyone else to be put out because of maintenance going on during everyone elses' peak hour?
They also have been rotation maintenance times, yesterday was emergency maintenance.
So let me get this right you are asking a company to change everyones work schedule in the company and give them dynamic schedules to their work days just for YOUR maint pleasure. Dude again no just just no. I wouldn't inconvience all my workers for that. Yes you do need to please your customers, but you also need to think about your work force too, and do you know how annoying it is to have dynamic work schedule it sucks.
Let me guess, you aren't affected by this issue eh? because if you were, you wouldn't be defending them right now.So let me get this right you are asking a company to change everyones work schedule in the company and give them dynamic schedules to their work days just for YOUR maint pleasure. I understand having to constantly change rosters when Emergency Maintenance is required can be a hassle, but we are paying them for a service. That payment should be included as counter measures for this problem.
If your internet connection kept shutting off every 2 days, would you sit there and say "oh that's ok, I'll let them fix it later" and continue paying the bill? or would you be pretty frustrated and change ISP's?
No, i read his post. I saw a cry post about maintenance times. Just like his other one.
We're in the second month of launch, just about every maintenance has fixed a bug.
Would you rather they told you to just wait until the next content patch to fix bugs like the ones in Coil?
I'd much rather lose a little game time to a bug fix than be unable to legitimately down Coil bosses due to bugs, or any other boss due to the bugs they've cleaned up during the shut downs.
Hurray for timezones not working for everyone! Welcome to the real world. It doesn't matter what time they shut down, because somewhere it is someones prime playing time.
Oh, and just so you know, I play in Australia, so these shutdowns are 5pm - 8pm for me. Oh no, thats my prime gaming time!
Emergency maintenacnes are just that- emergencies. They can't "rotate" them when they are trying to fix things as soon as possible.
No, he very well may be affected by it. I'd like to play all night and sometimes get interrtuped by a maintenance. Personally, I understand (and i think this person understands) that they do things when they need to do things, and it's not a choice made to screw you over. Nobody at SE said "Hmm, how can we annoy people in X time zone today? I know, lets have an unscheduled maintenance!"Let me guess, you aren't affected by this issue eh? because if you were, you wouldn't be defending them right now.
See above.
Do you have a job? because coming home and not being able to play for the day is pretty frustrating and easily a sub killer for me, this isn't even selfish, if anything people unaffected defending them is more selfish.
"I want to play more, i don't care about those losing days of game time"

So would you like them to just suddenly flip the switch when they spot a bug?
Great! so we could have the following-
I sit down and begin crafting a Vanya piece for someone. I get 100% HQ and 99% completion. SUDDENLY SERVERS GO DOWN! oops, sorry theres goes several hundred thousand gil worth of mats. Too bad.
Instead of -
hey guys we found a bug, so tomorrow at the following time, we're shutting down to fix it, sorry!
It also takes time to make the patch to fix the bug, yes? or would you rather they shut down the moment they find the bug, and stay shut down till the bug is resolved?
I quite like having warnings instead of surprise shutdowns.
