Please "rotate" the Emergency Maintenances (unable to play)

Hi,

Square-Enix please consider "rotating" the Emergency Maintenance as most of your Oceanic players are getting hit with 3-4 hour maintenance straight after usual work times.

I come home and every 2-3 days there's a maintenance at 7PM NZ Time all the way to 10pm or 11pm, meaning I get no play time whatsoever. This basically means I am paying £14.95 (24-25 NZ dollars) to play 20 days a month.. there has been a total of 13+ maintenance this month alone, meaning for 13 days I have missed out completely.

I understand you try your best to do these things when less people are playing, but it's not fair the same people are getting hit day after day with maintenance and having no game-time whatsoever.

Things happen, deal with it right? I understand, I really do.

All I'm asking is that people put themselves in my shoes and many other Oceanic players struggling with this problem.

I once proposed they shift the hours a little, but as we all know if they try to help one region, another will get screwed in the process. A suggestion came up in a different thread that if they rotate the "emergency maintenance" so the same region isn't screwed every. time. this would be beneficial.

As of right now, Oceanic players (excluding Perth, Australia) are hit with maintenance soon as they come home from a long day at work, I just don't see myself continuing to pay for a service if I'm only getting 20 days a month out of it.

I don't want to quit, I really enjoy this game and the communities that have formed, but at this rate I'm feeling ripped off and quite unhappy about this whole thing.

TLDR: Please switch the hours around whenever an emergency maintenance is due, it's not fair the same region can't play whenever you need to shut the servers down... have it so one day Oceanic gets hit with prime time, then another day Americans, then the next day Europeans, etc etc.

I'd love to see this rotate as well. I'm an NA player but I work graveyards and my nights off coincide with maintenance.

So it falls reliably under an hour before I would normally start playing. Drives me nuts since that's the equivalent of not being able to play Saturdays for me.

I'm also a NA player and would support rotations. It always gets me at midnight (right when I'm in the zone), but rotations would be fair. For your zone to not be able to play at ALL during prime time every maintenance just sucks.

I've been posting in other similar threads (some of these threads got deleted) and I also support the rotation.
Currently, these emergency maintenance fall right in my 3 hour play time.
Once a month with rotation = Perfectly fine.
Twice a week with fixed time = Unhappy.
(I just used 1/8 as an example because 3 hours / 24 hours = 8)

Yeah it's pretty bad, if it was once a week or a monthly thing I wouldn't mind.. but seeing as they are doing these things every 2-3 days It's becoming really frustrating and I'm not getting my moneys worth .

I completely forgot about night shift NA players too, must suck for you guys eh.

You are correct, I did make a thread about this issue yesterday. Having said that, I felt that thread wasn't a very good representation and was mainly a "fume" thread, which I believe isn't a very good way of going about this.

This is starting to border on the dead horse side of things at this point. Just let them do the maintenance so that we can all have issues resolved and keep playing. Why worry about when it happens or if it cuts certain playtime off. What's the rush?

They have a business schedule, we happen to fall in that dead zone of maintenance. Someone's going to get caught in it, I guess it's just a "me" thing if we're going to come whinging everytime maintenance comes around, yet everyone continues to talk about bugs and content and whatever-else-people-aren't-satisfied-with-most-of-the-time.

C'mon, man...

It's a recurring issue because it's a huge problem that thousands are upset about it, forums are a vocal minority but if more people actually bothered with the forums, you would see more of these threads on a daily basis.

They have changed the emergency maintenance hours once already, I don't see why they can't change them again but this time instead of putting it on a permanent shift they could actually rotate them so not everyone is affected.

Like I said, I understand the concept of a maintenance, I have played MMO's since 2001 and not once have I complained as most companies only do them once a week or actually do them at different times so the same region isn't always caught straight after work hours... Square seems to think it's fine to bash the same region every 2-3 days, this is not fair and for a subscription based model they should really care about customers affected by this.

I'm not asking them to completely change it, I'm not even complaining about the idea of a maintenance, I just want them to think about those that are always screwed by this on a daily basis.

Rotate them so everyone gets a little downtime, not just Oceanic and Nightshift players.
