So , i really wanted to give this game a go. However, i feel all i actually do is run 8 AK runs then GG im done for the week.

It's ppl like you that don't ether know, or remember what WoW was like when it first came out.
There wasn't much of a end game for WoW ether, but ppl stuck with it because there were not many other mmos, and over time WoW got more and more content, and everyone became happy with it over time.

if you stick with FFXIV it'll also get more content in time and you'll be very happy with it. but for that to happen gamers need to Sub to FFXIV. and stick with it.

I mean, if you already feel like there's nothing to do, can you imagine how much faster you could burn through the game if you could just farm the AF2 gear in a few days? The restriction is there so that you don't run out of things to do while more content is being developed.

I hope you realize this is a launch for a MMO. FFXI didn't have sky nor sea till Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promithia Expansions. Year 1 ( Japan Only Release *Only base game"), Year 2 (NA Release Base game and Rise of the Zilart), Year 3 ( Chains of Prom. Expansion)

It took 3 years before we had sea/sky combined, ( They said they already have a rough draft of the first expansion submitted for FFXIV ARR *In which either Sky or Sea, Yoshi didn't say which one he's going to do*).

When MMO's first release peopel really should expect the "base game" and not 3+ years worth of content.

By the time I get bored of 2.1, Wildstar will launch. I just have to get through the next month of coil, ak, and wp.

maybe but they will have some problems too just like XIV, two months later, will certainly Wildstar have very many qq forum threads like this and it's just about the same thing that there is no end-game content.
So thoroughly no matter what game we all play today suffers from the same problem and also the new ones to come. Says that they are not bad, but it will take just as long-term for them to develop. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy about this.
Instead, they leave the game and then post a thread about "content sucks and I quit playing" ....

I do not know! But people want things fast today, lack patience and have a poor attitude to the game.
Happened the same thing about Swtor, I liked the game and played at least 2 years, but people just like this after one to two months and complained about everything.

Appreciate you actually answer my question and not just burning me or others in the post. However, i still dont see in any patches notes a way to fix the fact that Coil for me resests on a Tuesday and so when i get home at 5pm from work cause i have a life . Alot of people are past turn 1 meaning im stuffed and cant get lvl 90 accessories .Only way to fix this is to duty finder coil.

Sorry, I recall wow launching with far far more things to do than here. At least 5 different lvl 50 dungeons, a few world bosses, several true level 50 zones with faction grinds, and open world PvP. The later kept me logging in every day, it was so dang fun...then 2 or so months later, they brought out 3 raids and proper PvP objective based battle grounds with it's own, separate progression system/rewards/gear. I grow tired of people using that game as an example when it destroys this game content wise even on launch. FF 14 isn't even close, no way. Heck, Rift had 10x the end game content and it just went F2P just like SWToR did. Is FF 14 next? We shall see in 4-6 months won't we.

While i appreciate there being a CAP and the fact i cant just farm AF2 gear in like 2 days. The fact that the only progression for me gear wise is to do 1 of 2 dungeons which are always Speedruns AK/WP simply cause at the times i choose to play cause i live in AUS , coil T1 is either already done by most and well crafting is just meh. In additional to what i orginally pointed out . WHy would i fate grind my fate to 50 on yet another class like where the hell is the variety. Surely SE could have made quests reset for each job.

I will be as well. Luckily this is one of the very few games where I like the crafting system. And as of later tonight I will be doing my first coil run. I still have tons of stuff I want to get done. Need to get the appropriate materia for my crafting/gathering classes, need to get top rank in all GC, want to collect all chocobo bardings, level 1 sub class I have been putting off, maybe level blm etc.

And if you make the choice to skip content, you don't in my opinion hav a right to complain afterwards of being bored.

I leveled a trade skill to make my own relic. I've done every quest i can find. I've done every instanced an uncountable number of times. So yeah I've made my bed. Heck I haven't put half the effort into this game to zoom through content that I have on other games. I'm down to Coil which we start as a free company this week. If you dont see a content problem your looking through rose colored glasses. Lets be real here these guys didn't just release this is a year after they released.
