To me the fact that you find getting to level 34 WITH fate grinding slow is further proof that they need to be nerfed. That should be no more than 4 days worth of time alot less if you actually put a good amount of effort forth.

Having taken only one job past 27 I'm curious as to what personal experience you're basing your 4 day statement on.
