    Boo. is all i have to say seems like with all the issues plaguing this game an attack system that works fine already should be low on the list. Devs have lots of work to do besides fixing what aint broke.

    the implementation of auto-attack was the most cost-effective way of getting rid of this mindless 111111 of buttonX smashing...

    AOC has a pretty good fighting system (even though the game gets incredibly boring after hitting the cap).
    But the system is one of the best i've seen so far in a mmo.
    Since SE doenst want to change too much about the battle system (at least i think that- i still hope they surprise me with greater changes) it was the best way to go. And its coming anyways so...

    Its not just dumping auto attack on the current combat system. We are getting a brand new fighting system with animations to match. Besides, it wont be similar to XI or any other auto-attack so lets just wait and see what happens. Really its all you can do atm.

    They are even going to redo battle regimen at some point, are changing stat effects/monster stats and difficulty among other things.

    Honestly if they add something to keep me busy while while my character auto attacks I would love to see it. Like positioning and stances! Then they are just making what I am focused on during combat more important than pressing one (or two in my case, light strike) then I am fine with it. But if they just slap it on and it's like nothing else was added then no thanks, at least this way I stay focused.

    But I will wait to see what they do with it before making any kind of final decision. After all it could be a game saving adjustment if done right.

    auto attack sucks, most people who spam one button are either fighting easy enemies, or just not being very effecient, but realy it doesnt matter, Auto attack is currently non negotiable. I just hope they come up with some great way to execute it, cause it will present a lot of problems without a lot of changes to the very core of battle, and good enemy fighting tactics

    I have been saying no to AA for awhile now. Too bad the FFXI nerds won the shouting match.

    It is said that time travel is impossible, but welcome to your first glimpse of it, backwards 10 years in gaming.

    Agreed! i'm curious to see how it will be added...even tho i have the feeling Matsui neither is creative enough or have the guts needed to use a different system from FFXI. He doesn't seems to be open to new ideas and to prefer archaic systems than trying something new.

    However, i do hope i'm 100% wrong about battle system...i'd love to have a pleasant surprise when i read the 1.18 patch notes...after all auto-attack can be used in uncountable ways so we will only know if its helping or harming the battle system when its live.

    You're silly it's much more fun to press an ability or macro every 15 seconds.

    For all the 11111 mashers, you're doing it wrong.

    Well the new battle system designer was the lead designer from XI so...although that may have had a part, it doesn't mean the system is going to just be tacked on.
