    look at the history long term success EQ1 , FFXI , Ultima , EQ2 to name a few one thing all those games had in common was AT LAUNCH there was alot of END GAME content

    Look at fails GW2 , SWTOR , rift , AOC , vanguard .. to name a few one thing that all those had in common was very little or no END GAME CONTENT AT LAUNCH

    im not saying this is the only reason why these games died or those games lasted longer what im saying is IF there isnt enough content for people progress their main character each day then they wont pay for the game and it will have an effect on the games longevity

    As far as FFXI there was no end game until NA launch with its 1st expansion "Rise of The Zilart" which was 6-9 months after the game went live in Japan.

    FFXI endgame was Dynamis. Dynamis was added in the Rise of the Zilart expansion, which was released one year after launch in Japan.

    Hell, the level cap was 50 (remember level 50 in FFXI for a minute) for a good 7 months.

    No, the level cap changed to 55 after 4 months. Also start of endgame with the inclusion of HNMs.

    And as for launch, of course people mean when it launched for them, not in Japan.

    You think *FFXI* had a lot of end game content at launch?

    Ahahahahahahahahahahaha...<gasp> <wheeze>

    Dude, FFXI didn't even have the Shadow Lord fight up at launch. No HNMs. Almost all of what became the real end game didn't come out until the expansions.

    I don't think you played XI at launch if you think there was endgame content, because I can assure you there was not. Even NA release had no endgame. PS2 release is when we received some endgame (RoZ)

    again i ask how long did it take to get to maxed level ... i myself played eq1 .. ive talked to people that played XI and they said it took quite awhile to get maxed level / relic and stuff .. purhaps im wrong on the XI part but if it took months to be raid ready

    Too long, according to the majority of the would-be players, not long enough according to your hardcore base. There were those knocking on the door to a non-existent endgame in the first month. And many, many more screaming at the crushing grind FFXI was. We've already doubled even the implied maximum subscription based FFXI did in its hayday. I would stop listing that game's grind as a virtue, if I were you.
