There are two rotations in the guide that begin with IDC, so you could just use one of those. If you wanted to keep Fracture then you could use the following:
HT-ID-Dis-CT-Ph-FR-TT-VT-FT-HT-TT-VT-FT-Ph-Fr-ID-Dis-CT-HT-TT-VT-FT-Ph-Fr-TT-VT-FT
It's quite easy to play on the controller, and follow the rotation without any issues AND that includes weaving buffs in-between. A good layout of skills, and a bit of practice, and it's not too difficult at all. The GCD is long enough to switch between hotbars and prepare for the next ability with time to spare. I currently use 2 hotbars, meaning it's quick to switch between then with a single button, but even when we get enough skills to need 3, there'll be plenty of time for switching (through the single R1/RB press rather than holding). I also don't use any macros.
Interestingly enough, that's the rotation I tend to use. I got into the habit of doing it this way, and trying to do Ph-FR before IDC just wasn't happening. Good to know that it's acceptable. I do tend to have a BRD in the group, too, so I can see it paying off earlier.
Sorry for going offtopic again, but I have a question on ff14-app parser. How do I make it record dps only in a certain period of time? I don't see any start/stop buttons. Let's say I want to only record and check the dps in AK first boss from the beginning until the boss dies, how do I do it? Also, which subject tab in Battle log should be fully enabled? (my guess is You, Party Member, Engaged Enemy?)
It's just that I didn't find any guide that would show you how to use the parser correctly.
What I do is reset it before the boss fight starts.Sorry for going offtopic again, but I have a question on ff14-app parser. How do I make it record dps only in a certain period of time? As for the battle log I have you, party member, engaged enemy enable.
I'm trying to follow this rotation and for the most part, I have it down, EXCEPT for the 25th skill in the rotation Chaos Thrust.
Since the first CT is enhanced by Blood for Blood, I have to let this one drop or I won't be able to reapply it, and because of so all my other DoTs and HT drop because I have to wait to reapply it. Is it that my timing is off for my skills? Maybe during the Jump before the first CT?
According to xivapp, on the Training dummies in Coerthas when I'm doing the full rotation (and waiting for the second CT) I'm pulling about 230-250 DPS with Gae Bolg +1, full Darklight, AK belt, DL necklace and earrings, HQ Rubelitte Bracelet and Rings (each single melded with Crit hit tier 3 materia). I heard with around my gear I should be pulling 300 DPS on the dummies? could anybody let me know if this is correct?
That's a relief to hear

230-250 is fine. People tend to exaggerate what other people "should" parse.
There's a section of the guide that deals with clipping chaos thrust, I believe the information in there should answer any questions you have on this issue.I'm trying to follow this rotation and for the most part, I have it down, EXCEPT for the 25th skill in the rotation Chaos Thrust.

So if I'm understanding it correctly, in fights like Garuda, Titan and Cadeucus(sp?;?). My issue will be a non issue because of constant movement? If so, then thank you for this thread.
I would also add Turn 2 due to movement, and almost all of Turn 4 since only two mobs have enough uptime to cause clipping (Dreadnaught #1 and 3). Cadeucus will lead to CT clipping since there is barely any movement away from the boss in that fight (outside of the odd platform dodge).
However, if you are really comfortable with your rotations and the mechanics of whatever fight you're doing I would tend towards the two rotations designed to avoid clipping by default. I just alternate between those two for every fight.

The issue was that while I had 100% uptime of my buffs, I didn't realize the rotation was more built with controller in mind. Plus in actual battles I was pulling very slack DPS. In a group of relic DPS on titan, I was not pulling enough DPS for the heart ( I changed to my bard afterwards and we one shot Titan)I would also add Turn 2 due to movement, and almost all of Turn 4 since only two mobs have enough uptime to cause clipping (Dreadnaught #1 and 3).
