    Major flaw in your thoughts, "gil is not required to earn the best gear". Its all earned from tomes and random coffer drops / lucky rolls from Coil and soon Crystal Tower.

    Not like anyone that legitimately plays could actually afford a full set with each piece being listed for 700k+

    Could you give me an example? I'm of the impression that a ilvl 70 ring with 5x materia in it is still subpar compared to an ilvl 90 ring.
